Collegium Records is an English classical music record label founded in 1984 by British composer and conductor John Rutter, primarily to record his work with the Cambridge Singers. [1] [2] The label has also worked with artistes including composer Tarik O'Regan, soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, the City of London Sinfonia, and the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge.
John Milford Rutter is an English composer, conductor, editor, arranger, and record producer, mainly of choral music.
Gabriel Fauré composed his Requiem in D minor, Op. 48, between 1887 and 1890. The choral-orchestral setting of the shortened Catholic Mass for the Dead in Latin is the best-known of his large works. Its focus is on eternal rest and consolation. Fauré's reasons for composing the work are unclear, but do not appear to have had anything to do with the death of his parents in the mid-1880s. City of London Sinfonia (CLS) is an English chamber orchestra based in London. CLS is orchestra-in-residence at Opera Holland Park since 2004 and holds a residency at St Paul's Cathedral. A Clare Benediction is an anthem by John Rutter, beginning May the Lord show his mercy upon you. Rutter wrote both the text and music of the composition to honour Clare College, Cambridge, where he had studied. The work was published by Oxford University Press in 1998.

He offered versions for children's choir in unison or a four-part choir, with keyboard or orchestra. It was commissioned by the Council for the Protection of Rural England.
