Malayalam Communications Limited is the holding company which is owned by Communist Party of India (Marxist). John Brittas serves as the current Managing Director. Mammootty serves as the channel's Chairman. Mohanlal was formerly a Director of the channel when it was established in 2000.

Suhasini Maniratnam known mononymously as Suhasini, is an Indian actress known for her works in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. She made her film debut in 1980 with the Tamil film Nenjathai Killathe, for which she won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. Suhasini won the National Film Award for Best Actress for the Tamil film Sindhu Bhairavi in 1986.

Lesa Lesa, also referred to as Laysa Laysa, is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Vikram Singh, who previously produced 12B. The film features Shaam and Trisha in the lead roles, while Vivek, Radharavi and Sreenivasan play supporting roles. Madhavan appears in a guest appearance. Cinematography is handled by Tirru, while the film's score and soundtrack were composed by Harris Jayaraj. The film is a remake of the 1998 Malayalam film Summer in Bethlehem, which was co-written by Ranjith and Venu Nagavally. It Was Dubbed In Hindi As Rosa My Jaaneman.

Alphabetum grandonico-malabaricum sive samscrudonicum is a book on the grammar of the South Indian Malayalam language, published in 1772 at the printing press of the Congregatio de Propaganda Fide in Rome. It is believed to be the first book on Malayalam printed in Europe. The Alphabetum grandonico-malabaricum focuses on the pronunciation of the Malayalam alphabet with many examples in Malayalam characters and includes some remarks on general characteristics of the grammar. At the end, there are also some short Malayalam sentences of a religious nature such as the ten commandments.

Dinesh Baboo

Dinesh Baboo is an Indian film director, cinematographer, producer, actor and screenwriter. He has worked in both Malayalam cinema and Kannada cinema. His directorial ventures were chiefly with Kannada films. His popularity also is largely as a director rather than a cinematographer due to his many popular films in Kannada, some of which went on to become classics.

O. N. V. Kurup

Ottaplakkal Neelakandan Velu Kurup was a Malayalam poet and lyricist from Kerala, India, who won the Jnanpith Award, the highest literary award in India for the year 2007. He received the awards Padma Shri in 1998 and Padma Vibhushan in 2011, the fourth and second highest civilian honours from the Government of India. In 2007 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by University of Kerala, Trivandrum. O. N. V. was known for his leftist leaning. He was a leader of All India Students Federation (AISF). He died on 13 February 2016 at KIMS hospital in Thiruvananthapuram due to age-related illnesses, aged 84.

The Venmani School of poets were involved in a movement in Malayalam Literature also known as the Venmani Movement. The style of poetry was pioneered by members of the Venmani Illam of Kodungalloor in the 19th century.

Further, MS Banesh won Seven State Television Awards. Now he is working as Programme Head in Reporter TV, Cochin, Kerala. Black Dalia is a 2009 Indian Malayalam film directed by Baburaj in his directorial debut. The film stars Suresh Gopi, Baburaj and Vani Viswanath, with Cherrie Minhas, Tami Dushyantha, Suja Naidu, Teena Ponnamma, Ruksha, Jisna Ali, Althara, Kavitha Nair, Pavithra and Thegika in other important roles. This film was dubbed in Telugu as Anthima Theerpu, in Hindi as Lady Singham and in Tamil as Magalir Kalloori.

V. K. Prakash Indian film director and actor (born 1960)

V. K. Prakash is an Indian film director and actor. He makes films, music videos, and commercials, and works predominantly in Malayalam, but has also directed Telugu, Marathi, Kannada and Hindi films. Prakash's debut feature directorial was Punaradhivasam (2000) which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam and Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director. His film Nirnayakam (2015) won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.

Sarvavijnanakosam, known in English as the Malayalam Encyclopaedia, is a general encyclopedia in the Malayalam language. It is intended to be "a compendium of world knowledge", covering over 32,000 topics. The first volume was published in 1972, and in 2015 sixteenth volume was published. In total 20 volumes are expected to be published. It is published by the State Institute of Encyclopaedic Publications. The encyclopedia received a national award for best reference book in 1979, and volume 12 received the Dravidian Linguists' Association award for best educational book of 2003.
