The Great Australian Bight is a large oceanic bight, or open bay, off the central and western portions of the southern coastline of mainland Australia.
HMS Arethusa was the name ship of her class of eight light cruisers built for the Royal Navy in the 1910s. She saw a considerable amount of action during the early years of the First World War, participating in the Battle of Heligoland Bight and the Battle of Dogger Bank.

As the result of direct contact with the Gulf Stream along the coast of North America, the coastal climate of the bight area is temperate.
Hillview-Adeytown is a former local service district and former designated place on the east coast of Newfoundland in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada that existed from 1999 until 2008. It consisted of the village of Hillview on the Southwest Arm of Trinity Bay and the village of Adeytown on the Northwest Arm of Trinity Bay, just south of Clarenville.

HMS Falmouth was a Town-class light cruiser built for the Royal Navy during the 1910s. She was one of four ships of the Weymouth sub-class. The ship was initially assigned to the Atlantic Fleet upon completion in 1911, but was reduced to reserve in mid-1913. When the First World War began in 1914, Falmouth was transferred to the 1st Light Cruiser Squadron (LCS) of the Grand Fleet and then the 3rd Light Cruiser Squadron at the end of the year. The ship participated in most of the early fleet actions, including the Battles of Heligoland Bight, Dogger Bank, and Jutland, but was only seriously engaged in the latter. She was torpedoed and sunk off Flamborough Head, Yorkshire by German submarines during the action of 19 August 1916.
HMS E47 was an E-class submarine launched by Fairfield, Govan for the Royal Navy and completed by William Beardmore, Dalmuir. She was launched on 29 May 1916 and was commissioned in October 1916.
Port Rexton is a small town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located on the East Coast of the island of Newfoundland at the north end of Robinhood Bay, about 10 minutes east of Trinity and 3 hours north of St. John's. The town had a population of 690 in 1940, 449 in 1951, 454 in 1956, 351 in the Canada 2006 Census, 338 in the Canada 2011 Census and most recently 340 in the Canada 2016 Census. The town is part of a group of communities known as the Trinity Bight. The town is home to a few small businesses, including inns and restaurants as well as the Skerwink trail which connects Port Rexton to Trinity Harbour.
Lushes Bight–Beaumont–Beaumont North is a town on Long Island in Notre Dame Bay in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The town had a population of 169 at the 2021 Census, down from 275 in the 2006 Census.

Barren Bay is a natural bay on the coast of Labrador in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is nearby to West Island, Drunken Cove Point and Salmon Bight Point. Barren Bay is also close to French Man Cove, Frenchman's Cove and Hauling Cove.
Domino is a former settlement on the Island of Ponds in Labrador. Domino is located on the east side of a cove named Salmon Bight. What remains of the community has been absorbed into the neighbouring settlement of Black Tickle, located on the west side of the cove. The area is sometimes still referred to as Black Tickle–Domino.
National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 164 is a Sustrans regional route in the Yorkshire Wolds. The Northern section between Pocklington and Hutton Cranswick is part of the Way of the Roses, opened in 2010. The southern section links Beverley and Kiplingcotes via Newbold. Both sections are key parts of the 146 mile Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route, opened in 2011. It is fully open and signed.
