The commune of Rusaka is a commune of Mwaro Province in central Burundi. [1] The capital lies at Mwaro (Rusaka).In recent years forest development in this agricultural commune has resulted in arid soils in some parts. [2] In June 2003, FDD combatants killed three civilians and burned local government buildings and a cooperative in the commune. [3]

Rusaka commune has 29 collines : Rusaka , Ndava , Gisozi , Munanira , Nyakimonyi , Vyuya , Gataka , Buburu , Kiganda , Mabaya , Gitaramuka , Mashunzi , Musumba , Mirango , Gitanga , Gasibe , Bitezi , Musivya , Kibimba , Nyamiyaga , Kiyange , Nkoma , Nkurunzi , Rusaka , Kiyege , Mwaro , Mahonda

Ndava colline has 8 villages : Ndava , Musongati , Shombo , Murambi , Kizi , Gatare , Kirika , Saswe
