Route 287 is a Connecticut state highway in the southern Hartford suburbs, running from Newington to Wethersfield. It serves the community of Griswoldville in Wethersfield.
Route 287 begins as East Robbins Avenue at an intersection with Route 176 in Newington. It heads east for 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to the Berlin Turnpike (US 5 and Route 15), briefly overlapping it to reach Prospect Street. Route 287 soon crosses into Wethersfield, passing by the Wethersfield Country Club in the Griswoldville neighborhood. Route 287 ends at an intersection with Route 3 near Old Wethersfield. [1]
The section of Route 287 in Wethersfield is designated the Bohdan "Bo" Kolinsky Memorial Highway. [1]
Route 287 was established from previously unsigned state roads, SR 544 (Prospect Street) and SR 760 (Robbins Avenue), in 1969. However, it was not included in the official state highway map until 1975 because part of the route had been in arbitration with the town of Newington. It has had no significant changes since. [2]

Newington is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region. Located 8 miles (13 km) south of downtown Hartford, Newington is an older, mainly residential suburb located in Greater Hartford. As of 2023, the population is 30,527. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has its headquarters in Newington.
U.S. Route 5 (US 5) is a north–south United States Numbered Highway running through the New England states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Significant cities along the route include New Haven, Connecticut; Hartford, Connecticut; and Springfield, Massachusetts. From Hartford northward to St. Johnsbury, Vermont, the road closely follows the route of the Connecticut River.
Route 15 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Connecticut that runs 83.53 miles (134.43 km) from a connection with New York's Hutchinson River Parkway in Greenwich, Connecticut, to its northern terminus intersecting with Interstate 84 (I-84) in East Hartford, Connecticut. Route 15 consists of four distinct sections: the Merritt Parkway, the Wilbur Cross Parkway, most of the Berlin Turnpike, and part of the Wilbur Cross Highway. The unified designation was applied to these separate highways in 1948 to provide a continuous through route from New York to Massachusetts. The parkway section of Route 15 is often referred to locally as "The Merritt".

The local name of the street varies as it passes through multiple towns.
Route 99 is a state highway in Connecticut running for 10.64 miles (17.12 km) from Route 9 in Cromwell, through the town of Rocky Hill, ending in Wethersfield at the Hartford city line. The road continues into Hartford as a local road. It follows the former alignment of Route 9 from prior to that route's upgrade to a freeway.

CTfastrak is a regional bus rapid transit system currently operating between downtown Hartford and Downtown New Britain station in New Britain in central Connecticut. Operated by Connecticut Transit, it is the first bus rapid transit system in Connecticut and the second in New England after the MBTA Silver Line. CTfastrak opened on March 28, 2015 after fifteen years of planning and three years of construction.
