Connor Lew (born August 30, 2005) is an American college football center for the Auburn Tigers.

Early life

Lew attended Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. In his junior season, he helped his school to a ten win season, helping the offense average 32 points per game while also notching 15 tackles with seven tackles going for a loss, a sack, and a forced fumble on defense. [1] Lew was invited to participate in the All-American Bowl. [2] Coming out of high school, he was rated as a three-star recruit and the 7th center in the class of 2023, holding offers from Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and Miami. [3] [4] Lew initially committed to play college football at Miami before flipping his commitment to Auburn. [5]

College career

In week eight of the 2023 season, Lew took over as the starting center after starter Avery Jones went down with an injury. [6] For his performance in his first start versus Mississippi State, Lew was named the SEC freshman of the week. [7] During the 2023 season, Lew played in 11 games, making six starts. [8] He was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. [9]

Head coach Tommy Tuberville served his eighth season at Auburn, the third longest tenure among current SEC head coaches that year. Offensive coordinator Al Borges returned for his third season to direct the offense and was joined by first-year defensive coordinator Will Muschamp who came from the Miami Dolphins. The Tigers finished the season with an impressive 11–2 record, finishing second in the SEC Western Division behind the surprising Arkansas Razorbacks. With signature wins over the eventual BCS champion Florida Gators and the final-ranked #3 LSU Tigers, Auburn was the only team that could claim victories over two BCS and top five teams. However, the team also had signature losses to the unranked Arkansas Razorbacks and Georgia Bulldogs. They finished the season ranked #8 in the Coaches Poll and #9 in the AP Poll.

The 2006 Georgia Bulldogs football team completed the season with a 9–4 record. The Bulldogs had an SEC record of 4–4. Despite losses to unranked Kentucky and Vanderbilt, Georgia salvaged its season by beating two ranked teams in the last two games of the season: #5 Auburn and #15 Georgia Tech. A victory over #14 Virginia Tech in the 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl gave the Georgia Bulldogs three consecutive victories over top 25 teams. This was the team's sixth season under the guidance of head coach Mark Richt.

He also served as offensive coordinator at Auburn from 2009 to 2011; in that role, he helped lead the 2010 Auburn Tigers to a national championship victory. Malzahn has coached Heisman winner Cam Newton and two Heisman candidates: Nick Marshall and Tre Mason, including coaching 14 All-Americans. Lee Ziemba is an American former professional football player who was an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Auburn Tigers, earning consensus All-American honors and winning the 2011 BCS National Championship. The Carolina Panthers selected Ziemba in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL draft.
