Coral Palmer was a New Zealand netball player who represented her country on seven occasions, including in the 1971 world championships. She later became a netball coach.
Coral Palmer was born on 13 July 1942. She played netball for Rotorua in the Centre court (C) position. She became the 50th player to represent the Silver Ferns, the New Zealand national netball team, first playing against Singapore in November 1970, at the beginning of a long tour by the team that included the 1971 World Netball Championships, which were held in Kingston, Jamaica in January. Coached by Taini Jamison, the Silver Ferns were runners-up in the tournament, losing to Australia in a match that Palmer could not play in due to sickness. [1]
Palmer later became a coach. She was a coach at John Paul College, Rotorua. Among the players she taught was Samantha Winders who first played for the Silver Ferns in 2017 and had played 44 games for the team by early 2021. In 2013, during Winders' time at the College, the school achieved its first appearance at the New Zealand Secondary Schools tournament, finishing in fifth place. [2] [3]
The New Zealand national netball team, commonly known as the Silver Ferns, represent New Zealand in international netball. The team take their nickname from the Silver Tree Fern, which is an emblem for many New Zealand sports teams. The Silver Ferns were formed in 1938 as a representative New Zealand team to tour Australia. To date, they have been one of the most dominant national netball teams in the world, along with Australia, and have a winning record against most other netball nations. The Silver Ferns are current world champions and ranked second in the INF World Rankings, behind Australia.

John Paul College is a Catholic secondary school in Rotorua, New Zealand. The co-educational school caters for students in years 7 to 13. It was opened in 1987 and combined two existing schools, Edmund Rice College and MacKillop College. The school was founded to serve the Catholic families of Rotorua. John Paul College was named for Pope John Paul II.

Laura Robyn Langman is a retired New Zealand international netball player, who last played domestic netball for the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the Australian Super Netball league. Primarily a midcourt player, Langman is a former captain and vice-captain of the New Zealand national netball team. She is the most capped player in the history of the Silver Ferns, having overtaken Irene van Dyk's record of 145 test matches in October 2018.
Jodi Anne Brown is a retired New Zealand netball player. Brown was a member of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns from 2002 to 2015, taking time off in between those periods due to injury and pregnancy, earning 61 caps. She has also played elite domestic netball in New Zealand for 13 years, and has signed with the Southern Steel for 2014. She played for the Central Pulse in 2015 and was getting set to play her final season in 2016 before she injured her ACL in the preseason and decided to retire from domestic netball after she had retired from international netball in 2015. In 2015, Jodi began co-coaching at St Hilda's Collegiate, Dunedin with the year nine A team. She has since followed this team through the years, which included a devastating 1 point loss in the SISS final. In 2018, Brown coached the St Hilda's Senior A team and also coached the Dunedin U17 team to 11th place at Nationals.
Casey May Kopua is a retired New Zealand international netball player and former captain of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic.

With the national team, the Silver Ferns, currently ranked second in the world, netball maintains a high profile in New Zealand. As in other netball-playing countries, netball is considered primarily a women's sport; men's and mixed teams exist at different levels, but are ancillary to women's competition.
Yvette McCausland-Durie is a New Zealand netball coach and former netball player. As a player, she played for Western Flyers during the National Bank Cup era and represented New Zealand at under-21 level. She was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 1992 World Youth Netball Championships. As a head coach, McCausland-Durie guided Central Pulse to the 2019 and 2020 ANZ Premierships and the 2018 Super Club title. She has also worked with the senior New Zealand team as an assistant coach and with the under-21 team as a head coach. She was head coach when New Zealand won gold at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships. McCausland-Durie is also a schoolteacher and educator. Together with her husband, she is a co-founder of the Manukura School based in Palmerston North. She is also a member of its board of trustees.
Kayla Malvina Johnson is a New Zealand netball player. As a high school student, Cullen played representative netball and basketball, and competed at a national level in athletics. In 2008, she was selected in the New Zealand U21 netball team, and was a member of the side that finished second at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships, behind Australia.
Gina Crampton is a New Zealand netball international. She was a member of the New Zealand teams that won the 2019 Netball World Cup and the 2021 Constellation Cup. Crampton was also a member of the Southern Steel teams that won the 2017 and 2018 ANZ Premierships. She was named the 2016 New Zealand ANZ Championship Player of the Year and the 2019 ANZ Premiership Player of the Year. Crampton has captained both Southern Steel and New Zealand. Since 2021 she has played for Northern Stars.
Tilly Titihuia Rangimatau Hirst was a New Zealand netball player. She was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 1967 World Netball Championships.
Tiana Metuarau is a New Zealand netball player of Cook Island, Tahitian and Māori descent. She plays in goal and first played for the national team, the Silver Ferns, in September 2021.
Samantha Winders, previously known as Samantha Sinclair, is a New Zealand netball international. She represented New Zealand at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was a prominent member of the New Zealand team that won the 2021 Constellation Cup. She captained New Zealand for the third test against England during the 2021 Taini Jamison Trophy Series. She was subsequently named the 2021 Silver Fern Player of the Year. Between 2014 and 2022, she played for Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, initially in the ANZ Championship and later in the ANZ Premiership. Between 2020 and 2022, she served as Magic captain.
Leonie Leaver is a former New Zealand netball player who represented the New Zealand national netball team, known as the Silver Ferns, on 19 occasions. She is now a netball coach.
Mirth Solomon was a New Zealand Māori netball player who competed for New Zealand in the 1963 and 1967 Netball World Cups, winning a silver and gold medal. After retiring, she played an important role in Netball Rotorua, retiring in 2016 after 15 years as its president. She was inducted into the Maori Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Taini Maremare Jamison is a former New Zealand netball coach and administrator. She coached the New Zealand national team to its first world title at the 1967 World Netball Championships.
