HMS Lochinvar was a minesweeping training "stone frigate" of the Royal Navy, sited at Port Edgar on the Firth of Forth. It was established in 1939. From 1943 to 1946 it was temporarily transferred to nearby Granton Harbour while Port Edgar became a training centre for the 1944 Normandy Landings. HMS Lochinvar closed in 1975 when its operations moved across the Forth to HMS Caledonia in the rebuilt naval base at Rosyth.

Irishtown-Summerside is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located about 2.5 miles north of Corner Brook. The Post Office was established on March 1, 1965 and the first Postmistress was Blanch Anderson. The town had a population of 1,418 in the Canada 2016 Census. This contiguous settlement was formerly two separate villages, one of which was known originally as Petipas Cove. Two smaller settlements were formerly both separately reported in the census.

Corbin is a settlement in Newfoundland and Labrador. It was one of the last communities in Newfoundland to be resettled, having returned a population figure in 1981 but not thereafter. A number of cabins remain however, and these are still seasonally visited. The bridge to Corbin was earmarked for dismantlement, meaning cabin owners may find some local difficulty in reaching their summer homes.

Giesecke Glacier is a glacier in Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland. Its outflow is split in the center by a nunatak. Through two tongues it drains the Greenland ice sheet westwards into Kangerlussuaq Icefjord. The northern tongue reaches the fjord at 73°35′N55°36′W. The southern tongue reaches the fjord at 73°30′N55°28′W.
