Corina Belcea (born 1975) is a Romanian violinist who resides in Basel, Switzerland.
She started violin lessons at the age of six. Her teachers in Romania were Radu Bozgan and Ştefan Gheorghiu. In 1991, she took part in the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists. Yehudi Menuhin then invited her to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School. Her teacher there was Natalia Boyarskaya. She continued her studies at the Royal College of Music. Her teacher there was Felix Andrievsky. [1]
In 1994, while she was studying at the Royal College of Music she founded the Belcea Quartet. [2]
She has also performed as a soloist in venues such as St John's, Smith Square, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Hall, Purcell Room, Théâtre du Châtelet and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. She was awarded the Cobbett Medal for services to chamber music in 2021. [3]
Belcea plays a Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin on loan from Merito SIT and owns a contemporary violin made by Felix Daniel Rotaru in 2016. [4]

The Yehudi Menuhin School is a specialist music school in Stoke d'Abernon, Surrey, England, founded in 1963 by violinist and conductor Yehudi Menuhin. The current director of music is the British classical pianist Ashley Wass. The school is one of the five established musical schools for school-age children in the United Kingdom, along with Chetham's School of Music, Wells Cathedral School, the Purcell School and St. Mary's Music School, Edinburgh. It is mainly funded by the Department for Education's Music and Dance Scheme, by philanthropic foundations, by donations and bequests from individuals, and by regular support from the Friends of the Yehudi Menuhin School.
Kam Ning is a violinist and daughter of the violinist-composer Kam Kee Yong (甘琦勇), and grandchild of Kam Beng Soo and Ooi Kooi Aun. Born in Singapore in 1975, she was given violin lessons at the age of six by the elder Kam, and had her early education at the Methodist Girls' School.
Pamela Frank is an American violinist, with an active international career across a varied range of performing activity. Her musicianship was recognized in 1999 with the Avery Fisher Prize, one of the highest honors given to American instrumentalists. In addition to her career as a performer, Frank holds the Herbert R. and Evelyn Axelrod Chair in Violin Studies at the Curtis Institute of Music, where she has taught since 1996, and is also an Adjunct Professor of Violin at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music since 2018.

Corinne Chapelle was a French-American violinist. She was born in California, her father was French and her mother Tunisian. She started her violin studies as a two-year-old and gave her first concert one year later. She studied with Yehudi Menuhin at his school in England, following which she studied at the Juilliard School of Music and joined Pinchas Zukerman's class in New York. Upon hearing Chapelle at the age of fifteen, Yehudi Menuhin said about her: "One of the most promising talents of her generation". These studies were further complemented by working with Ana Chumachenco, Lorand Fenyves and Josef Gingold.
