Cory Stone (born March 6, 1972) is an American gridiron football coach and former player. He is the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for Central State University, positions he has held since 2022. [1] He has worked as an assistant coach with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Stone coached the Argonauts to a victory in the 100th Grey Cup in 2012. He played college football at the University of Tennessee from 1992 to 1994 and professionally in the Arena Football League from 1996 to 2005. Stone has coached in the Arena Football League for the Bakersfield Blitz, Rio Grande Valley Dorados, and Milwaukee Iron. He has coached college football at Clark Atlanta University.
Stone played high school football for and graduated from Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Attended The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Stone attended the University of Tennessee, where he was a two-year letterman (1992–1994). [2] During his time as a defensive end and defensive tackle, he played in the 1993 Hall of Fame Bowl, 1994 Florida Citrus Bowl, and the 1994 Gator Bowl.
Stone played in the Arena Football League from 1996 to 2005.
Stone began his professional coaching career in 2006 as defensive line coach for the Bakersfield Blitz. He coached the AFL2 Defensive lineman of the year Jerry Turner. The Blitz defensive line had three players ranked in the top ten for sacks (Turner led the league 16).
After his time with the Bakersfield, Stone served two seasons as associate head coach/defensive coordinator for the Rio Grande Valley in 1998. The Dorados won the Southwest Division title with a 15-1 record. The Dorados defense posted several AF2 historic records for most sacks for in a season (58), most sacks in a game (13), and shut out of an opponent 64-0 (Laredo).
Stone then served one season as defensive coordinator/defensive line coach for the Iron in 2009.
Stone then entered the college ranks for two seasons as the defensive line coach for the panthers. Under Stone's coaching, the Panthers were rank number #2 in the nation for TFLs. Under Stone's tutelage in 2010 and 2012, The Panthers also finished in the top twenty for sacks in 2010 and 2011. He coached defensive lineman Darel Strong to the SIAC all first team in 2011.
In 2012, Stone helped lead the Toronto Argonauts to a historic 100th Grey Cup win over the Calgary Stampeders. He held the title for one season as defensive line coach. [3] Rick Foley was named the Most Outstanding Canadian player for the 100th Grey Cup. Defensive tackle Armond Armstead was selected to the CFL East All Star and CFL All Star teams. Armstead was the only rookie sectioned to the All Star teams under Stones' tutelage. [4] [5]

He has served as the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts, Ottawa Rough Riders, and BC Lions and as general manager of the Lions and Argonauts. Since leaving the CFL in 2012, Rita has been coaching American football in Europe. Coaching the Bergamo Lions in the Italian Football League (IFL), Calanda Broncos in Switzerland, Prague Panthers in Czech, Berlin Adler Germany, Barcelona Dragons in Spain, in the newly formed European League of Football (ELF) in 2021 and returned again to the Bergamo Lions in 2022.
Orlondo Steinauer is the president of football operations for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). As a player, he played professional Canadian football as a safety for 13 seasons with the Ottawa Rough Riders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts from 1996 to 2008. He finished his career second all-time in CFL history for interception return yards with 1178 yards. Steinauer was a two-time Grey Cup champion as a player after winning in 1999 with the Tiger-Cats and in 2004 with the Argonauts. He has also won a championship as a coach, winning the 100th Grey Cup as the defensive backs coach for the Toronto Argonauts in 2012.
John Coleman Hufnagel is a special advisor for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has previously served as the Stampeders' President, General Manager, Head Coach, and Offensive Coordinator. He played quarterback for fifteen professional seasons in the CFL and National Football League (NFL). Prior to his hiring to the Stampeders on December 3, 2007, he was the offensive coordinator of the New York Giants of the NFL.

The pre-season began on June 13, 2012, and the regular season started on June 29, 2012. Rogers Centre in Toronto hosted the 100th Grey Cup on November 25, with the hometown Toronto Argonauts defeating the Calgary Stampeders 35-22.

Chris Jones is an American gridiron football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was previously the head coach and general manager of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Elks after serving as the head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos. Jones previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes, Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts before becoming a head coach. Jones won four Grey Cup rings with four teams between 2002 and 2015.
Rick Campbell is an American-Canadian professional football head coach and co-general manager for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was the Calgary Stampeders' defensive coordinator from 2012 to 2013 and was also an assistant coach with the Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He then served as the head coach for the Ottawa Redblacks for six seasons. He is a three-time Grey Cup champion, once as the special teams coordinator with the Eskimos in 2003, again with the Eskimos as the defensive coordinator in 2005, and once as the head coach of the Redblacks in 2016. He attended Washington State University.
James Stanley is an American gridiron football Linebackers Coach & Pass Game Analyst for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Stanley played professional indoor football from 2004 to 2007 for various teams in the Arena Football League (AFL), AF2, National Indoor Football League (NIFL) and American Indoor Football League (AIFL) and was the first overall pick in the AIFL draft in 2005. He has coached for several teams at the college and professional levels. Stanley was the linebackers coach for the Toronto Argonauts when won the 100th Grey Cup in 2012.
Cedric Walker is a former American football defensive back and coach who is currently the head coach and defensive coordinator of the Billings Outlaws of the Arena Football League (AFL). Walker played football at Stephen F. Austin University; once his stint there concluded, he signed with the AFL's Charlotte Rage. Walker played for a succession of AFL teams over his ten-season career; these included the Orlando Predators, Arizona Rattlers, Indiana Firebirds, Chicago Rush, Austin Wranglers, and Las Vegas Gladiators. At the end of his AFL Career, Walker had amassed some 522 solo tackles ; this was the league's seventh-highest total. Walker also won one ArenaBowl as a player; this came with the Arizona Rattlers in 1997.
Cory McDiarmid is a Canadian gridiron football coach who is currently the special teams coach for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He previously coached in the CFL with several teams and is a two-time Grey Cup winner with the BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He has also coached for the Panthers Wrocław in the European League of Football.
