Cosmo Pyke is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and artist from London. His debut EP Just Cosmo was co-produced with Fraser T. Smith, in association with 70Hz Recordings. His later releases are via his own label, Pykrete Records.
Cosmo was born in Peckham, Southeast London. He attended The Brit School for Performing Arts, following famous singer-songwriter alumni Adele, Amy Winehouse, Jamie Woon, Loyle Carner, and more. [1]
His 2017 debut EP Just Cosmo was released in collaboration with producer Fraser T. Smith’s 70Hz Recordings. Tracks on the EP are ‘Wish You Were Gone’, ‘Chronic Sunshine’, ‘After School Club’, ‘Social Sites’ and ‘Great Dane’. [2]
In 2017, The Guardian described his sound as, ‘a fusion of jazz, 2-tone, Tyler, the Creator and the Kooks.’ [3] Dazed said: ‘Pyke’s songs combine “classical songwriting with a dash of reggae, hip hop, and indie.' [4] Clash commented: 'The Peckham artist excels by channelling a laid back, jazz-inspired vibe, a highly creative songwriting stance that seems to grow with each passing track.' [5]
Cosmo described the EP as: "A documentation of my youth as an ode to my thoughts and feelings, with personal experiences and personal samples. Such as the last track 'Great Dane', which begins and ends with a clip from 'Just William' that I listened to and loved as a child… Fraser T. Smith and I really worked with creating a live sound.” [6]
In late 2020, Cosmo released the title track from his new EP A Piper For Janet through his own label, Pykrete Records. [7] ‘Piper’ is a reference to artist John Piper; Janet is Cosmo’s beloved late grandmother. The EP was written over a few years while Cosmo was touring across South America and Asia. The rest of the EP was released in January 2021, with the tracklist: ‘A Piper For Janet’, ‘Filet Mignon’, ‘Railroad Tracks’ and ‘Seasick’. [8]
In late 2021, Cosmo was invited to the Brodie Sessions in Denmark to perform an acoustic set paired with the host's audio-visual production. It was released in January 2022. [9]
Cosmo finally released 'Curser's Lament' as an official single (and the title track of the forthcoming EP) on March 29, 2023 answering calls from his fans since the demo version surfaced online in 2016. The EP was released on May 5 [10] with the tracklist: 'Curser's Lament', 'No Comply', 'What Can I Do?' and 'Awful Dawn'. [11] Cosmo embarked on his first UK headline tour in May 2023, [12] followed by more new music and live dates later in the calendar year.
In 2024, Cosmo released the single 'Outlaw' in January [13] and 'Low', [14] the forthcoming EP title track, in February. Cosmo says: "‘Low’ is for the fans. In my live shows years ago I played this song. It had a different name then, and the crowd responses were electric. From those moments they took it to their hearts, renamed it, and now I give it back to them. Thank you.” In April he embarked on his first headline European tour, culminating in London at Brixton Electric on April 25.

UK rap, also known as British hip hop or UK hip hop, is a genre of music, and a culture that covers a variety of styles of hip hop music made in the United Kingdom. It is generally classified as one of a number of styles of R&B/Hip-Hop. British hip hop can also be referred to as Brit-hop, a term coined and popularised mainly by British Vogue magazine and the BBC. British hip hop was originally influenced by the dub/toasting introduced to the United Kingdom by Jamaican migrants in the 1950s–70s, who eventually developed uniquely influenced rapping in order to match the rhythm of the ever-increasing pace and aggression of Jamaican-influenced dub in the UK. Peter Koppes is an Australian guitarist, best known as a founding and almost-continuous member of the independent rock band The Church. He is a multi-instrumentalist, also playing mandolin, drums, piano, and harmonica. He has also released various solo albums and various recordings with his group The Well (1989-1995). Koppes lives on the Australian Central Coast in NSW but sometimes spends time on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland where he sometimes produces albums and has previously conducted seasonal 'song writing' and 'performance for demo recording' short courses at Nambour TAFE, as well as offering private tuition in guitar, bass, drums and song writing. His daughters are Tatiana 'O' Koppes and Neige Koppes who had their own band, Rain Party but now have independent solo careers.
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" is a folk song written by Anne Bredon in the late 1950s. Joan Baez recorded a solo version for her 1962 album Joan Baez in Concert and a variety of musicians subsequently adapted it to a variety of styles, including Led Zeppelin. Knievel have released four studio albums and a compilation of B-sides and rarities.
Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III, known professionally as Aloe Blacc, is an American singer-songwriter and rapper. He is best known for his guest performance on Avicii's 2013 single "Wake Me Up", which peaked the charts in 22 countries including Australia and the United Kingdom. As a lead artist, he is known for his singles "I Need a Dollar" and "The Man", the latter of which peaked the UK Singles Chart. Aside from his solo career, Blacc is also a member of hip hop duo Emanon, alongside American record producer Exile.

He won a Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year in 2011 and 5 of his albums have been shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize, the most short-list nominations of any artist since the prize's creation in 2006. In 2013, CBC Music named Shad the second-greatest Canadian rapper of all time. Shad hosted Q on CBC Radio One from 2015 to 2016 and hosts the International Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary series Hip-Hop Evolution on HBO Canada and Netflix.
Jacob Moon is a solo Canadian folk singer/songwriter and guitarist based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He has an extensive repertoire of songs, with nine albums to his credit. He has won many accolades and has been invited to perform for and with some of his heroes, including Rush, Marillion, Ron Sexsmith and Gordon Lightfoot. Moon's famous YouTube cover of Rush's Subdivisions went viral in 2009 and has earned him many fans around the world.
Courtney Michaela "Coco" Jones is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Raised in Lebanon, Tennessee, she began auditioning in Nashville as a child to pursue a career in entertainment. She was first featured on the competition series Radio Disney's Next Big Thing (2010–11), which led to her being cast in other Disney properties such as the film Let It Shine (2012) and the sitcom Good Luck Charlie (2012–13).
Brian Edward Kelley is an American musician, best known as a member of the Nashville-based duo Florida Georgia Line. Kelley is from Ormond Beach, Florida, and enjoyed playing sports and music growing up. He moved to Nashville to go to school and play baseball at Belmont University, where he met Tyler Hubbard, the other member of Florida Georgia Line.

Surf Curse is an American indie surf rock band formed in 2012 in Reno, Nevada, and now based out of Los Angeles. The band was originally formed by Nick Rattigan and Jacob Rubeck (guitars), and now also includes Henry Dillon and Noah Kholl. The band achieved mainstream success after their song "Freaks", written in 2011 and first released in 2013, became popular on the short-form video platform TikTok in 2020.

Blane Muise, better known by her stage name Shygirl, is an English singer, DJ, rapper, songwriter and co-head/founder of record label and collective Nuxxe. Shygirl's music incorporates elements of dance music, industrial hip-hop, experimental pop, grime and deconstructed club. She has also been associated with the hyperpop music scene. Shygirl rose to prominence after working with close collaborator and friend Sega Bodega, as well as other well-known experimental producers Arca and Sophie, and gaining attention from the likes of Rihanna, who has used various Nuxxe tracks for her Fenty Beauty commercials and fashion shows. Shygirl has released various singles since 2016, and two EPs titled Cruel Practice and Alias. Her debut studio album Nymph was released on 30 September 2022 to widespread acclaim from music critics.
