Creature is a Canadian pop rock band, formed in 2004 in Montreal.
The band formed in 2004 under the name "Pawel Czuraj" and released a debut album No Sleep At All on March 3, 2008. The following year, No Sleep At All became a nominee in the "Pop Album of The Year" category at the Juno Awards of 2009. [1]
The band's sound incorporates elements of hip hop, dance-punk and new wave music. [2] All the band's members contribute vocals to the music, which adds to the constant boy-girl dialogue in the songs. [3]
In 2005, Creature opened for Our Lady Peace in Montreal at La Tulipe [4] and has also opened for Mika [5] at the Bell Centre.
Creature also performed at Pop Montreal (2005, 2006, 2007), South by Southwest (SXSW) in 2007 [6] and in 2008, taking part in the M for Montreal showcase and at Les Transmusicales de Rennes in France.
In 2009, the band was invited to perform at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Transmit Live showcase in Vancouver, the Transmit China [7] showcase, they also played the El Evento 40 event at Estadio Azteca, a showcase presented by Los 40 principales and the FMTU Monterrey Music Festival both in Mexico and in France they performed at the Solidays festival. [8] In August No Sleep At All was released in Mexico on Universal Music Mexico. They also played in New York City where they caught the attention of Blondie who said they were "completely unheralded in any way and fantastic". [9]
In early 2010, No Sleep At All was released in France on Universal Music France where they were previously invited to perform on Taratata. [10] Creature also did charity work for War Child, by playing to collect money at Montreal metro station, Berri-UQAM. [11] [12]
During the summer of 2010, the band went to England to record their second album with Stephen Hague. [9]
The single "Who's Hot Who's Not" was used in a commercial for BE magazine featuring Paris Hilton, [13] and "Pop Culture" was used in a television commercial for Telus, and in an episode of the Food Network Canada cooking show, Chuck's Day Off . [14]
L'Arc-en-Ciel, stylized as L'Arc〜en〜Ciel and abbreviated as Laruku, is a Japanese rock band formed in Osaka in 1991 by bassist Tetsuya and vocalist Hyde. Following the departure of original members Hiro and Pero, guitarist Ken and drummer Sakura were recruited to replace them in 1992 and 1993, respectively. While they first got their start as a visual kei band, L'Arc-en-Ciel have not had any association with the movement since their major label debut in 1994. Sakura left the band in 1997 and was replaced by Yukihiro in January 1998, completing the current line-up.
Michael Steele is an American retired musician, best known as the bassist for The Bangles. Under the name Micki Steele, she was a founding member of The Runaways but left in 1975, shortly before the band's major label debut. For the next several years, she played with various other musical groups for short periods of time.
The Sadistic Mika Band was a Japanese rock band formed in November 1971 by husband and wife duo Kazuhiko Katō and Mika Katō. In a time when it was still rare for women to sing in rock bands in Japan, the fact that the Katōs were a married couple was even more unusual. This, combined with their glam rock-influenced fashion, has been cited as groundbreaking for defying gender norms in the country. After releasing three studio albums and becoming the first Japanese rock band to tour the United Kingdom, the Sadistic Mika Band disbanded in November 1975 when the Katōs divorced.

Cobra Starship was an American dance-rock band from New York City, New York, formed in 2005 by Gabe Saporta. He recorded the first album as a solo project, While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets. Saporta later enlisted guitarist Ryland Blackinton, bassist Alex Suarez, drummer Nate Novarro, and keytarist Victoria Asher, all of whom provide backing vocals.
Patrick Watson is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. It also refers to the eponymous band formed by Watson, whose blend of cabaret pop and classical music influences with indie rock has been compared to Rufus Wainwright, Andrew Bird, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and Pink Floyd for its experimental musicianship. Patrick Watson's album Close to Paradise was awarded the Polaris Music Prize in 2007.

The Glasspack is an American psychedelic punk rock band from Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The band was formed in 1999 by frontman and native Louisvillian "Dirty" Dave Johnson, in hopes of giving a better alternative to the classic and hard rock played over-and-over on the radio. The Glasspack has since recorded one garage EP, two garage albums, two studio albums, and numerous cover songs, as well as toured the U.S. relentlessly. Three of the LPs were released on Detroit's Small Stone Records. The band takes its name from the high-flow fiber-glass filled automobile muffler known as a glasspack, which are known for being louder than traditional mufflers.
Hollerado is a Canadian indie rock band from Ottawa, Ontario. Formed in 2007, the band consisted of Menno Versteeg, Nixon Boyd, Dean Baxter and Jake Boyd. Hollerado went on to release four studio albums, before disbanding in 2019. They were nominated for awards such as the Juno Award that included Best New Group Award at the 2011 Juno Awards.
Band of Skulls are an English rock band from Southampton, consisting of Russell Marsden ; Emma Richardson and Matt Hayward were previously members. The group formed after meeting in college, although Marsden and Hayward have been friends since high school. Band of Skulls have released five studio albums, their most recent being Love Is All You Love in April 2019.
