The Crosby Sisters are an Australian country music duo consisting of Jodie and Kelly Crosby.

In 2001, the sisters won Vocal Group or Duo of the Year at the Country Music Awards of Australia. [3]

Music career

Both Sisters moved to Tamworth, New South Wales in 1986. [4]

In 1991 and 1997, the sisters won Duo of the Year at the Victorian Country Music Awards. [5] Also Winning the CMAA Achiever Awards 'Independent Entertainers of the Year' in 2000. [6]

In 1999, the sisters imprinted their hands into the Country Music Hands of Fame 1999. [7] [8]

Jodie Crosby married journalist Jon Wolfe in March 2006. [9] They have one son together, Ethan Crosby-Wolfe (born 10 March 1994), who is also a singer/songwriter, actor and performer. [10] [11]

In late 2010, Jodie & Jon had success hosting Tamworth's morning program "The Pulse", weekday's on 88.9FM Tamworth. [12] [ non-primary source needed ]

In 2013, The Crosby Sisters teamed up with Brent Larkham and recorded their Album Home Spun. [13] Both sisters are currently working on original music for the first time since their award-winning Train of Desperation in the mid-1990s. [14]

In November 2016, Jodie Crosby commenced work on her debut solo album. [15] [16] Her debut single, "Hello" was released early February 2017. Written by her son Ethan Crosby-Wolfe. [17] The album titled Jodie Crosby was released during the 2017 Tamworth Country Music Festival.

The Country Music Awards of Australia (CMAA) (also known as the Golden Guitar Awards) is an annual awards night held in January during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, celebrating recording excellence in the Australian country music industry. They have been held annually since 1973. [18]

The Flood are an Australian roots music band formed by Kevin Bennett and James Gillard, with Mark Collins and Doug Bligh. Albert Geoffrey McElhinney OAM, better known by his stage name Geoff Mack, was an Australian country singer, songwriter and aircraft mechanic. As a songwriter, he wrote the song "I've Been Everywhere" which was an Australian hit for Lucky Starr in April 1962 and became popular in North America when adapted for Hank Snow in November. More than 130 cover versions have been recorded.

Ralph Ernest Newton, professionally Slim Newton, was an Australian country music singer-songwriter and musician. In June 1972 he issued an extended play, The Redback on the Toilet Seat, which peaked at No. 3 on the Go-Set National Top 40 Singles Chart and sold over 100,000 copies. In 1973 Newton won a Golden Guitar Trophy at the inaugural Country Music Awards of Australia for Top Selling Record for the EP. Newton continued his career as a part-time musician and released several albums while also working in his trade as a welder. In 1977 the Country Music Association of Australia inducted him into the Australasian Country Music Hands of Fame, and then in 2009 into the Australian Roll of Renown.
