Cumberland Cove is an unincorporated, deed-restricted retirement community located in Cumberland and Putnam Counties in Tennessee. [1] [2]
Cumberland Cove Road is considered a minor collector road of the community by Putnam County's official Land Use and Transportation Policy Plan, while all of the other roads in the Putnam County portion of the community are considered local roads. [3] Nonetheless, TDOT's official maps of Putnam and Cumberland Counties show every county road in the community as a local route as opposed to a "functional" (collector) route. [4] [5] Besides Cumberland Cove, the only other main road in the community is U.S. Route 70N, which connects the community to nearby Monterey [6] and Crossville. [7]
It is impossible to drive to the Putnam County portion of Cumberland Cove without driving through neighboring Putnam County. [8] [4] All roads in the Putnam County portion of Cumberland Cove have a 35 mph speed limit posted at the county line along Cumberland Cove Road and Belmont Drive. [9] [10] Cumberland Cove Road also has a posted 35 mph speed limit in Cumberland County. [11]
