The road races happened in the streets of Downtown Toronto with the start and finish being adjacent to the Ontario Place West Channel. Finally the track cycling events occurred at the Milton Velodrome in Milton. The road cycling time trials happened in the streets surrounding the velodrome.

Jhonnatan Botero Villegas is a Colombian mountain bike racer. Among his most important achievements are the team gold medal obtained at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and the fifth place in mountain biking at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The 2017 Pan American Road Cycling Championships took place at Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, May 4–7, 2017. This was the 32nd edition of the continental championship. The event gave berths for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.

The Vuelta a Colombia Femenina is an annual women's cycling road race, run over many stages in Colombia. The first event in 2016 was classed as an amateur category event, whereas the 2017 event was given a UCI 2.2 category. Colombian Ana Sanabria has won the race on three occasions, the most of any rider.

BikingMan is a French-based organization that organises unstaged, self-supported, ultra distance cycling events, in South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It was founded in 2016 by Axel Carion, who came back from cycling across South America in 2015 and wanted to share the experience of cycling unknown places in survival conditions for endurance athletes.

The 1999 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré was the 51st edition of the cycle race and was held from 6 June to 13 June 1999. The race started in Autun and finished in Aix-les-Bains. The race was won by Alexander Vinokourov of the Casino team.

Cycling competitions at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia were held from 24 June to 2 July 2022 at three venues across Valledupar and at one sub-venue in Cali.
