The Jersey Railway was opened in 1870 and was originally a standard gauge railway, 3+34 miles (6.0 km) long, in Jersey in the Channel Islands. Converted to narrow gauge in 1884 and extended giving a length of 7+34 miles (12.5 km), the line closed in 1936. It is not to be confused with the Jersey Eastern Railway.

In its own right Jersey participates in the Commonwealth Games and in the bi-annual Island Games, which it last hosted in 2015. Jersey is a founder member of the Island Games Association and has participated in every Games since the first in 1985. Jersey first competed in 1958 in the British Empire and Commonwealth Games and has since participated in every staging of what became the Commonwealth Games. Youth sports participation includes the Commonwealth Youth Games and Jeux des Isles.

The 2015 Island Games in Jersey was the fourteenth edition in which an association football tournament was played at the multi-games competition.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">St Helier railway station (Jersey Railway)</span> Former railway station in Saint Helier, Jersey

St Helier railway station was a railway station in Saint Helier, the capital of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Opened in 1870 by the Jersey Railway, it was situated on the western side of the Weighbridge area, now Liberation Square. The station was referred to as "St. Helier (Weighbridge)" to distinguish it from another railway terminus opened by the Jersey Eastern Railway in 1873 in St Helier at Snow Hill. The station was in passenger operation until the line closed in 1936.

Basketball at the 2015 Island Games was held at the Fort Regent Sports Centre, Saint Helier, Jersey from 28 June to 3 July 2015.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Perquage</span>

The perquages are a series of routes in Jersey, Channel Islands. Some claim the routes that offered sanctuary to malefactors to leave the island. All except St Ouen and St Martin lead to the south coast. For example, St Mary, St John and St Lawrence leave via St Peter's Valley and Beaumont.
