The Men's time trial C2 road cycling event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics took place on 14 September at Flamengo Park, Pontal. Thirteen riders from 13 nations competed. [1]

The C2 category is for cyclists with upper or lower limb impairments and moderate to severe neurological dysfunction.

Michael Fred Phelps II is an American former competitive swimmer. He is the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 28 medals. Hamish Bond New Zealand rower

Hamish Byron Bond is a New Zealand rower and former road cyclist. He was a double Olympic gold medallist at the 2012 London Olympic Games and at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. He has won six consecutive World Rowing Championships gold medals in the coxless pair and has set two world best times in the coxless and coxed pair, which as of 2021 still stand as the world's best times in those boat classes. He made a successful transition from rowing to road cycling after the 2016 Summer Olympics focussing on the road time trial.

Michael Gallagher (cyclist)

Michael Thomas Gallagher, OAM is an Australian Paralympic cyclist from Scotland. He has won gold medals at the Beijing and 2012 London Paralympics. He was selected in the Australian team for the 2016 Rio Paralympics. The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency (ASADA) revealed that Gallagher had returned a positive A sample for erythropoietin (EPO) in an out-of-competition training camp in Italy in July 2016. This A positive disqualified him from the Rio Paralympics.

Stuart Tripp is an Australian cyclist. He won a silver medal in the silver medal in the Men's Road Time Trial H5 at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. He has been selected to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

2016 UCI Road World Championships

The 2016 UCI Road World Championships took place in Doha, Qatar, in October 2016. The championships was moved from the traditional September to October to avoid extreme hot and blustery weather. The event consisted of a road race, a team time trial and a time trial for elite men and women and a road race and a time trial for men under-23, junior men and junior women. It was the 89th Road World Championships and the first time that Qatar and the Middle East hosted the championships.

Alistair Donohoe Australian cyclist

Alistair Donohoe is an Australian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast. After suffering a right arm impairment in 2009, Donohoe became a multiple medallist at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships and UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships. He won silver medals in the Men's Individual Pursuit C5 and Men's Road Time Trial at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. He has been selected to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

The United States, represented by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, from August 5 to 21, 2016. 2016 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships

The 2016 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships were the World Championships for track cycling where athletes with a physical disability. The Championships took place at the Montichiari Velodrome in Montichiari, Italy from 17 to 20 March 2016. Great Britain were the most successful team of the competition in total medals (18) and in number of gold medals (8). The Championships saw 11 new world records set.

Adam Duggleby British cyclist

Adam Christopher John Duggleby is a British cyclist. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Rio Paralympics as a sighted pilot for visually impaired cyclist Stephen Bate, whom he was paired with in January 2014.

Liang Guihua is a Chinese cyclist. He won the gold medal at the Men's C2 3000 meter individual pursuit event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics with 3:44.553. He also won the bronze medal at the Men's road time trial C2 event, with 28:17.77.

The Men's time trial H2 road cycling event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics took place on 14 September at Flamengo Park, Pontal. Eight riders from seven nations competed.

United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics United States at the games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo

The United States, represented by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place in the summer of 2020, the Games were postponed to July 23 to August 8, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. U.S. athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympics of the modern era, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, which the U.S. boycotted in protest of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The opening ceremony flag-bearers for the United States were baseball player Eddy Alvarez and basketball player Sue Bird. Javelin thrower Kara Winger was the flag-bearer for the closing ceremony.
