Cycling has been contested at every Summer Paralympic Games since the 1984 Summer Paralympics. From an original program of seven road races, the sport is now contested on both road and track, and since 2012 the cycling program at the Paralympics is typically the third largest of any sport in the Games, behind athletics and swimming, and running at approximately 50 separate events.
The Men's time trial H1 road cycling event at the 2012 Summer Paralympics took place on September 5 at Brands Hatch. Ten riders from nine different nations competed. The race distance was 16 km.
Mark Rohan is an Irish cyclist, and a former Gaelic football and wheelchair basketball player. He competes in the H1 disability sport classification as he has been paralysed from the chest down since a spinal cord injury in 2001. Rohan won two gold medals in the 2012 Summer Paralympics.

Alistair Donohoe is an Australian cyclist, who currently rides for Australian club team Blackburn CC. Following a right arm impairment in 2009, Donohoe became a multiple medallist at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships and UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships. He won two silver medals at the 2016 Summer Paralympics and a silver and bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. He has been selected for the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
The UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships are the world championships for road cycling where athletes with a physical disability compete, organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
Nicolas Pieter du Preez is a South African athlete in paratriathlon. In 2013, he was the first person with tetraplegia to ever complete an Ironman Triathlon. Du Preez started competing at the Berlin Marathon in 2008 and was a seven-time winner at the event during the 2010s.
Jenny Holl is a Scottish professional racing cyclist. Originally from Scotland, Holl moved to Manchester in 2017.
Emilie Miller is an Australian Paralympic road hand cyclist and wheelchair rugby player. She won a bronze medal with the Steelers at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
Brian Sheridan is an American Paralympic cyclist. In 2016, he represented the United States at the Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the bronze medal in the men's road time trial H2 event. In 2015, he won one gold medal and one silver medal in cycling at the Parapan American Games held in Toronto, Canada.
Sergio Garrote Muñoz is a Spanish Para-cyclist who has represented Spain at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Paralympics.
Florian Jouanny is a French Para-cyclist who represented France at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Maxime Hordies is a Belgian Para-cyclist who represented Belgium at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.

The women's road time trial cycling events at the 2024 Summer Paralympics took place on 4 September at Clichy-sous-Bois, Paris. Seven events took place over twelve classifications. The T1-2, H1-3, H4-5 and C1-3 time trials, all races which took in multiple classifications, were 'factored' events, with times adjusted by classification to allow fair competition. All events (finals) were held on the same day.
