Maxime Hordies (born 13 March 1996) is a Belgian Para-cyclist who represented Belgium at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. [1]

Career

Hordies represented Belgium in the men's road time trial H1 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics and won a bronze medal. [2] [3] He won the 2023 Trophy Victor Boin. [4]

His gold in the Men's T46 marathon at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships was held as part of the London Marathon, set a new world record. James Michael Apsley Turner, is an Australian Paralympic athlete and soccer player with cerebral palsy. He has represented Australia as part of the Australia Paralympic soccer team, the ParaRoos, and was its player of the year in 2013. At the 2016 Summer Paralympics, he won the Men's 800m T36 in a world record time of 2:02.39. At the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London, he won three gold medals; he followed this up with two gold medals at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai and a gold and silver medal at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Paralympics Belgium recognizes the achievements of Belgian Paralympic athletes, coaches and administrators through this award. It is named after Victor Boin, co-founder and first president of the Belgian Paralympic Committee, and was created in the year of his death, 1974. The Trophy is awarded once a year to either a Belgian Paralympic athlete in regards of his/her achievements in the previous year or to honor his entire career or to an individual in recognition of his career and/or important role in the Belgian Paralympic movement. The Trophy Victor Boin can only be won once.
