The 2024 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships was the 13th edition of World Championships for road cycling for athletes with a physical disability. The championships took place in Zurich, Switzerland from 21 to 29 September 2024. [1] [2]
Events are held in four broad categories, with four different types of bicycle, denoted by a letter-number code:[ citation needed ]
As a general rule, the lower the number in the race code (e.g., C4 or H2), the greater the level of impairment.

Thomas Luther is a German chess player and International Grandmaster of chess. In 2000 he was a member of the German team that won the silver medal in the 34th Chess Olympiad in Istanbul.

F1, also T1 and SP1, is a wheelchair sport classification that corresponds to the neurological level C6. Historically, it was known as 1A Complete. People in this class have no sitting balance, and are tetraplegics. They may be able to perform limited actions with one hand. They lack sitting balance, and have limited head control and respiratory endurance. The process for classification into this class has a medical and functional classification process. This process is often sport specific.
The 2016 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships were the World Championships for track cycling where athletes with a physical disability. The Championships took place at the Montichiari Velodrome in Montichiari, Italy from 17 to 20 March 2016. Great Britain were the most successful team of the competition in total medals (18) and in number of gold medals (8). The Championships saw 11 new world records set.
The 2015 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships were sixth edition of the World Championships for road cycling for athletes with a physical disability. The Championships took place on the roads of Nottwil in Switzerland from 29 July to 2 August 2015. Italy were the most successful team of the competition in number of gold medals won (9), while Germany finished with the greatest total of medals (21).
Cycling was held at the 2015 Parapan American Games between the 9–10 August at the Ontario Place West Channel in Toronto.
The 2017 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships was the seventh edition of the World Championships for road cycling for athletes with a physical disability. The Championships took place on the roads of Pietermaritzburg in South Africa from 31 August to 3 September 2017.

The 2019 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships were the World Championships for track cycling with athletes with a physical disability. The Championships took place in Apeldoorn, Netherlands from 14 to 17 March 2019.
