The World Blitz Chess Championship is a chess tournament held to determine the world champion in chess played under blitz time controls. Since 2012, FIDE has held an annual joint rapid and blitz chess tournament and billed it as the World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships. The current world blitz champion title is shared by the Norwegian Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen and Russian Grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi. Ju Wenjun from China is the current women's blitz world champion. Magnus Carlsen has held the title a record eight times.
The Draughts World Championship is the world championship in international draughts and is held every two years. In the even year following the tournament, the World Title match takes place. The men's championship began in 1885 in France and since 1948 has been organised by the World Draughts Federation (FMJD). The men's championship has had winners from the Netherlands, Canada, the Soviet Union, Senegal, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine.
The 2015 Women's World Draughts Championship at the international draughts was held May 11–24, 2015 in Wuhan, China International Draughts Federation FMJD. Sixteen female players in total will be competing in the tournament. The tournament started on May 11, 2015, and will end on May 24, 2015. It will be played as a round-robin, with 15 rounds in total, each of which be micro-match from two games. The winning prize for the tournament is 20,000 euros.
The 2015 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts was held November 8–24, 2015 at Emmen, Netherlands International Draughts Federation FMJD. Twenty players were competing in the tournament. It was played as a round-robin, with 19 rounds in total, each of which be micro-match from two games. The winning prize for the tournament was 25,000 euros.
The 2016 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held 2–9 September 2016 in Karpacz (Poland) International Draughts Federation FMJD between ranked second at the 2015 Women's World Draughts Championship Natalia Sadowska (Poland) and ranked third at the same Women's World Draughts Championship Olga Kamyshleeva (Netherlands). The current world champion Zoja Golubeva (Latvia) had informed FMJD that she was not willing to defend her title. Natalia Sadowska won and became 9th women's world draughts champion.
The 2015 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held April 1–8, 2015 in Zerendi, Kazakhstan International Draughts Federation FMJD between the actual World Champion Zoja Golubeva (Latvia) and the challenger Tamara Tansykkuzhina (Russia). Zoya Golubeva won with a score of 8 : 4 and became the world champion for the fifteenth time.
The 2013 World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held May 12–18, 2013 in Tallinn, Estonia International Draughts Federation FMJD between the actual World Champion Alexander Georgiev (Russia) and the challenger Alexander Schwartzman (Russia). Alexander Georgiev won and became the world champion for the seven time.
The Women's Draughts World Championship is the world championship in international draughts organized by the World Draughts Federation (FMJD). The championship occurs every two years. In the even year following the tournament must take place the World Title match.
The 2015 World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held October 25–31, 2015 in İzmir, Turkey International Draughts Federation FMJD between the actual World Champion Alexander Georgiev (Russia) and the challenger Jean Marc Ndjofang (Cameroon). Alexander Georgiev won 7-7-6-6 against 7-5-4-12 and became eight times world champion.
The 2016 World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held from December 3–18 in the Netherlands under auspice International Draughts Federation FMJD. The match was scheduled to take place between Jan Groenendijk and Roel Boomstra, who were second and third at last Draughts Championship. World Champion Alexander Georgiev (Russia) has informed FMJD that he will not defend his title. FMJD decided that the next player in the classifications of last WC, Roel Boomstra, should play the Match for World Title against the Vice Champion, Jan Groenendijk.
The 2017 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts was held between 6–10 May 2017, in İzmir, Turkey, by International Draughts Federation (FMJD).
The 2017 Women's World Draughts Championship at the international draughts held in Tallinn, Estonia International Draughts Federation FMJD. Sixteen female players in total was competing in the tournament. The tournament started on October 1, 2017, and lasted on October 15, 2017. Three round played in hotel Europe, other – at Paul Keres Chess House. It played as a round-robin, with 15 rounds in total. The winning prize for the tournament is 20,000 euros. At the same time the 2017 World Draughts Championship was held.
The 2018 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held 19–30 November 2018 in Riga (Latvia) International Draughts Federation FMJD between world champion 2017 Zoja Golubeva (Latvia) and world champion 2016 Natalia Sadowska (Poland). Natalia Sadowska won second title. Prize money 17 000€. If score will be 54:54 both players will receive equally.
The 2018 World Draughts Championship match in international draughts was held from December 28, 2018, to January 13, 2019, in the Netherlands. It was held under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation (FMJD) and played between the current 2017 world champion Alexander Schwartzman and 2016 world champion Roel Boomstra. Roel Boomstra won this match and became World Draughts Champion.
The FIDE World Fischer Random Chess Championship 2019 (WFRCC) was the first world championship in Fischer random chess officially recognized by the international chess federation FIDE. Previous unofficial championships had been held, with the most recent winner being Magnus Carlsen in 2018. The competition started on April 28, 2019, with the first qualifying tournaments, which took place online and were open to all interested participants; and continued with further rounds up to the quarter-finals, which were also online. The semi-finals and final were played over the board between October 27 to November 2, 2019, in the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter in Bærum, Norway. The winner of the final was Wesley So, defeating Magnus Carlsen 13.5–2.5, to become the first FIDE world champion in Fischer random chess. Over the course of the competition, various time controls were applied, with longer games being weighted more heavily.
The 2021 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held 23 April – 3 May 2021 in Warsaw (Poland) International Draughts Federation FMJD between world champion 2019 Tamara Tansykkuzhina from (Russia) and world champion 2018 Natalia Sadowska (Poland). Tamara Tansykkuzhina won seventh title. Prize money 20 000€.
The 2021 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts took place from June 28 to July 14, 2021 in Tallinn, Estonia under the auspices International Draughts Federation (FMJD). Forty players competed in the tournament, which was played in a COVID bubble at Hotel Viru. In the semi-final all players were divided into four groups. The best three players from each semi-final group went to the final. The championship was played in a round-robin system. The main referee was IR Frank Teer (Netherlands). The winning prize for the tournament was 20,000 euros.

It was held under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation (FMJD) and played between the reigning 2021 world champion Alexander Schwartzman and 2018 world champion Roel Boomstra.
The 2024 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held from December 19 to December 31, 2024, at Wageningen City Hall Wageningen, in the Netherlands. It was held under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation (FMJD) and played between the reigning 2023 world champion Viktoriya Motrichko from Ukraine and Darya Tkachenko from Netherlands who was second at the same championship.
