The 2024 Speedway Grand Prix season is the 30th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and will decide the 79th FIM Speedway World Championship. [1] It is the third series promoted by Discovery Sports Events.
Bartosz Zmarzlik is the defending champion, having won the previous two titles.
For the 2024 season there are 15 permanent riders, who were joined at each Grand Prix by one wild card and two track reserves.
The top six riders from the 2023 championship qualified automatically. These riders were joined by the three riders who qualified via the Grand Prix Challenge and the 2023 Speedway European Championship winner.
The final five riders were nominated by series promoters, Discovery Sports Events. [1]

Speedway Grand Prix are a series of stand-alone motorcycle speedway events over the course of a season used to determine the Speedway World Champion. The series started in 1995 replacing the previous format of a single event final. The first winner was Hans Nielsen of Denmark.
The World Championship of Speedway is an international competition between the highest-ranked motorcycle speedway riders of the world, run under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The first official championships were held in 1936.

The 2021 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 27th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 76th FIM Speedway World Championship. The series was dominated by Polish venues once again with six of the 11 races taking place in Poland. Great Britain and Germany did not hold an event, however Russia was added to the calendar for the first time. In 2020, six of the eight races had been held in Poland.
The 2022 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 28th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 77th FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the first series promoted by Discovery Sports Events.
The 2023 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 29th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 78th FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the second series promoted by Discovery Sports Events.
The 2023 Speedway European Championship season was the 11th season of the Speedway European Championship (SEC) era, and the 23rd UEM Individual Speedway European Championship. It was the 10th series under the promotion of Polish company One Sport Lts. Danish rider Mikkel Michelsen won the Championship for the third time.
