Chantal Haenen (born 22 April 1997) is a Dutch para-cyclist who competes in the H5 category [1] and pararower. She is a seven-time medalist in the Road World Championships.
Prior to her impairment and para-cycling career, Haenen had competed in dressage. When she was 18 years old, she was involved in a traffic accident that resulted in having her legs amputated. [2]
Haenen began her para-cycling career in 2017. She competed in the 2019 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, winning the bronze medal in the time trial and road race events, and also competed in these two events in the 2021 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, where she won the gold medal in both of them. [3] She then competed at the delayed 2020 Summer Paralympics in the time trial and road race, finishing in fourth place in both of them. [4] [5] In the 2022 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, Haenen won the bronze medal in the road race event. [6] The following year, she won the gold medal in the time trial and the silver medal in the road race. [7] [8]
In addition to para-cycling, Haenen also competes in pararowing, having competed alongside Corné de Koning in the PR2 Mixed double sculls events in the 2022 and 2023 World Rowing Championships, where the two finished in fourth place in both of them. [9] [10]
Sonia Waddell is a New Zealand athlete. She represented her country at a World Junior Championship in hurdles before becoming a rower, in which sport she was twice an Olympic competitor and where she won silver at a World Rowing Championship. She later competed as a cyclist and won medals at a UCI Para-cycling Track World Championship as a sighted guide.

Kathryn Ross is an Australian Paralympic rower. She is a four-time world champion who has participated at four Paralympics from 2008 to 2020, winning a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. She set a world's best time in the PR2 1X event at the 2019 World Rowing Championships.
Rachel Morris is a British Paralympic sportswoman who has won Paralympic gold medals in both cycling and rowing. She took a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Paralympics as a handcyclist, and eight years later at Rio she won gold in the women's single sculls as a rower.
Carol Lynn Cooke, is a Canadian-born Australian cyclist, swimmer and rower. A keen swimmer, she was part of the Canadian national swimming team and was hoping to be selected for the 1980 Moscow Olympics before her country boycotted the games. She moved to Australia in 1994, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998, and took up rowing in 2006, in which she narrowly missed out on being part of the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. She then switched to cycling, where she won a gold medal at the 2012 London Paralympics, two gold medals at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics and a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
Alexandra Lisney is an Australian rower and cyclist. She won a bronze medal in the Women's Individual Pursuit C4 at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. She represented Australian at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Stuart Tripp is an Australian cyclist. He won a silver medal in the Men's Road Time Trial H5 at the 2016 Rio Paralympics and competed at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
Oksana Oleksandrivna Masters is an American multi-sport Paralympic athlete from Louisville, Kentucky. Having primarily specialized in rowing and cross-country skiing, she won the first ever United States medal in trunk and arms mixed double sculls at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. She was also a part of the U.S. Nordic skiing team at the 2014 Winter Paralympics and the 2018 Winter Paralympics. She won two Paralympic medals in 2014 and five Paralympic medals in 2018, including two gold. She switched to para-cycling after the 2012 Paralympics and competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics, winning two gold medals at the latter. She competed at the 2022 Winter Paralympics, winning a gold medal in Biathlon – Women's 6 kilometres, sitting.

The Women's Amstel Gold Race is the women's event of the Amstel Gold Race, the most important annual road cycling event in the Netherlands. Held in mid-April, it is organized on the same day as the men's race at approximately half the distance. Finlay "Fin" Graham is a British racing cyclist from Scotland who competes in para-cycling road and track events. He is classified as a C3 cyclist. He has represented Great Britain at two Paralympic Games: in Tokyo, he won silver medals in the track individual pursuit and in the road race. In Paris, he again took a silver medal in the individual pursuit, but took his first Paralympic gold in the road race. Graham is a multiple-time British and World Champion across road and track disciplines.
Josiane Dias de Lima is a Brazilian para-rower in sculling events. She has won various accolades in her main event, the PR2 mixed double sculls, including a bronze medal with Elton Santana at the 2008 Summer Paralympics, and a gold medal with Lucas Pagani at the 2007 World Rowing Championships. Lima has competed at every Paralympic Games that has featured rowing, and won Brazil's first Olympic rowing medal with Santana. She has also competed in the women's single sculls and indoor rowing.

The championships took place in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland from 9 to 14 August 2023. The championships form part of the inaugural cross-discipline 2023 UCI World Cycling Championships.
