Kamath was born on December 7,1977,in Kundapur to D. Vaman Kamath and Tara V. Kamath. He has four siblings. He completed his primary and high school education in Canara School. He completed his BCom from Canara College,Mangalore.

Kamath is from Gaud Saraswat Brahmin community and he is a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh affiliated to Sangh Parivar. Kamath served for a year as the general secretary of the Mangalore South BJP unit. In 2017,he was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly of Mangalore City South Assembly constituency in 2018 and he retained the constituency in the 2023 elections too. [2]
He is the director of Bhuvanendra Cooperative Bank Mangalore. [3] He has served as director of the Digantha Press. He has also renovated the Siddapura Venkataramana Education Trust at Kundapura.

Kamath is the founder of Sevanjali Charitable Trust which is involved in educational support,financial support and elderyl support in Karavalli. He's actively involved in Hindu religious event and culture promotion such as Padavinangadi Ganeshostsava,Anna Santarpane by Mangala Cashew industries,Bhatkala Ganapathi temple,Car street Venkatramana Temple,etc.
There are several allegations of communal polarization levelled against Kamat. [4] In 2023,Kamath forced Gerosa School Management to remove a teacher and also urged Hindu parents not to admit their children to Christian Missionary Schools [5] and also used schoolchildren to slogan against the school which is a punishable offence. In this regard,an FIR was registered against him for which he had to move court and secure anticipatory bail from getting arrested. [6]
In 2016,a close associate of Kamath and leader of NaMo brigade named Naresh Shenoy was the prime accused in the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga during March,2016 at Kodialbail. [7] The RTI activist has raised questions involving misappropriation of funds related to a temple in city and involvements of Sevanjali Trust in shady land deals [8] [9]
He was also accused of interfering into vaccination processes during the COVID-19 vaccine rollout [10] and was also stated to have taken credit for work done by John Richard Lobo. [11] In 2024,the Democratic Youth Federation of India have raised allegations against Kamat over Transferable development rights(TDR) scam in Vamanjoor. [12]
