Daelim Motors is a South Korean motorcycle (<250cc), motorscooter and ATV manufacturer. it produces over 300,000 vehicles a year since production started in 1963. Daelim's products are popular in Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Italy, Israel, Rwanda, Yemen and Sudan.

History

Founded in 1962 as a division of the DL Industries, Daelim began producing Japanese Honda motorcycle designs under license for the South Korean market in Seoul, South Korea in 1963. In 1976, they established their own research and development center in Hamamatsu, Japan, and the next year, they began mass production of their own designs.

In 2018, the motorcycle division was separated and became a Daelim Motorcycle.

In 2021, the South Korean Daelim Motorcycles changed their name to the DNA Motors, [1] although the export brand in the U.K. [2] remains unchanged.

Kymco

KYMCO or Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd, is a Taiwanese motorcycle manufacturer. KYMCO's headquarters and factory are located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, with about 3000 employees, and producing more than 570,000 vehicles per year. The company has production facilities in Jakarta, Indonesia; Petaling Jaya, Malaysia; Shanghai, Changsha, and Chengdu, PR China.

Daelim Industrial was established in 1939, and its E&C and Petrochemical Groups are the main lead of the Daelim Business Conglomerate (Chaebol).

KR Motors Co. Ltd. is a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer.

Derbi is a manufacturer of motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and recreational all-terrain vehicles produced by Nacional Motor S.A.U., a Spanish subsidiary of Piaggio & Co. SpA.

SYM Motors

Sanyang Motor Co., Ltd. was founded in Taipei in 1954 by Huang Chi-Chun and Chang Kuo An. The company's headquarters is established in Hsinchu County, Taiwan and sells its two-wheeled products under the brand name SYM. Sanyang's three major production bases are in Taiwan, China and Vietnam. The company manufactures and sells scooters, motorcycles and ATVs under the SYM brand, while it also manufactures automobiles and mini-trucks under the Hyundai brand. Since it began, the company has produced more than 800 thousand automobiles and 16 million scooters and motorcycles. The annual sales revenue of the company exceeds 1 Billion US dollars and it produces about 600,000 units of motorcycles and 20,000 automobiles per year. SYM currently employs around 2,300 people in its Taiwan manufacturing plants.

LML is a defunct Indian scooter and motorcycle manufacturer formerly based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Sachs Bikes International Company Limited is a German-based motorcycle manufacturer, founded in 1886 in Schweinfurt as Schweinfurter Präzisions-Kugellagerwerke Fichtel & Sachs, formerly known as Fichtel & Sachs, Mannesmann Sachs and later just Sachs.

Underbone

An underbone is a type of motorcycle that uses structural tube framing with an overlay of plastic or non-structural body panels and contrasts with monocoque or unibody designs where pressed steel serves both as the vehicle's structure and bodywork. Outside Asia, the term underbone is commonly misunderstood to refer to any lightweight motorcycle that uses the construction type, known colloquially as step-throughs, mopeds or scooters.

Hyosung Comet Series

The Hyosung Comet Series comprises a range of 125, 250, and 650 cc V-Twin engined recreational motorcycles. They are made in South Korea by Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc. All models in the Comet series are designated by model codes in the form GTxxxs with xxx representing the approximate engine displacement in cubic centimetres, and R or S being optional suffixes designating the motorcycle style.

Scooter (motorcycle)

A scooter or motor scooter is a low-speed motorcycle with a step-through frame and a platform for the rider's feet. Elements of scooter design were present in some of the earliest motorcycles, and scooters have been made since at least 1914. Scooter development continued in Europe and the United States between the World Wars.

Italika is the leading motorcycle brand and manufacturer in Mexico, with 400,000 motorcycles sold in 2014. In 2010, Italika made up 55% of the motorcycle market; in 2011 it reached a 63% market share, largely owing to low initial cost. Italika sold their one-millionth motorcycle on March 23, 2011, and their two-millionth motorcycle on September 5, 2014. Early Italika motorcycles were designed jointly with Hyosung of South Korea and assembled using parts shipped from South Korea and China. Current models, however, are of Mexican design and origin. Italika maintains a motorcycle factory and parts warehouse in Toluca, Mexico, near Mexico City.
