Da Rap Star is the third studio album by rapper Bohemia. It was released in 2009 under the label of Universal Music India. The album gathered a total of four nominations at the PTC Punjabi music awards and UK Asian Music Awards. [1] [2] [3]

Indian hip hop is a genre of popular music developed in India. Desi hip hop is a term for music and culture which combines the influences of hip hop and the Indian subcontinent; the term desi referring to the South Asian diaspora. The term has also come to be used as an alternative for rap music and even pop music which involves rappers of South Asian origins.

Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., better known by the stage names T.I. and Tip, is an American rapper. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Harris is known as one of the pioneers of the hip hop subgenre trap music, along with fellow Atlanta-based rappers Jeezy and Gucci Mane. Harris signed his first major-label record deal in 1999 with Arista Records subsidiary LaFace. In 2001, he released I'm Serious, his solo debut and only album with the label, as well as formed the southern hip hop group P$C. Upon being dropped from Arista, Harris signed to Atlantic and soon co-founded his own label imprint, Grand Hustle Records, which he launched in 2002.

In 2015 he performed on the song "Ki Banu Dunia Da" with Diljit Dosanjh in MTV Coke studio India that was aired in season 4 episode 5 on MTV India.

Roger David, better known by his stage name Bohemia is a Pakistani-American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer, mainly associated with Punjabi language music industry. He is considered to be the pioneer of the Desi hip hop industry.

Algernod Lanier Washington, better known by his stage name Plies, is an American rapper. Born in Fort Myers, Florida, Plies was a wide receiver on the Miami Redskins football team of Miami University in Ohio in 1996 and 1997 before beginning his musical career. After dropping out of college, he was signed to Slip-n-Slide Records, he released four studio albums from 2007 until 2010. Plies debuted in 2007 with The Real Testament with successful singles "Shawty" and "Hypnotized". Devika Chawla, known by her Artist Identity "Devika" is a US based singer / songwriter of Indian origin known for her unique voice and soulful performances. While she has trained in Hindustani classical music, she has always been at the forefront of fusion between Indian folk/classical melody & lyrics and a western sound.
