Dala-Demokraten is a Swedish social democratic newspaper published in Falun, Dalarna, Sweden. It has been in circulation since 1917.

History and profile

Dala-Demokraten was established in 1917. [1] The paper has a social democrat stance. [1] The outspoken Social Democrat Göran Greider is the paper's political editor. In the 1970s, female journalists working for the paper supported a more gender-equal workplace. [2]

Dala-Demokraten sold 24,400 copies in 1996. [1] In 2010, the paper had a circulation of 16,400 copies. [3] The circulation of the paper was 16,100 copies in 2011. [4]

Carl Anders Peter Hultqvist is a Swedish politician of the Social Democrats who served as the Minister for Defence in the Swedish Government from 2014 to 2022.

Social-Demokraten was a Swedish daily Social Democratic newspaper, belonging to the Swedish Social Democratic Party. The paper was founded in 1885 by Axel Danielsson and August Palm. Palm also edited the paper from 1885 to 1886. Another editor-in-chief was Hjalmar Branting who held the post for two times: from 1886 to 1892 and from 1896 to 1908. It existed up to 1943 when it changed name to Morgon-Tidningen. The paper was based in Stockholm. Morgon-Tidningen existed up to 1958.

Camilla Lindberg is a Swedish politician who belonged to the Liberal People's Party from 2006 to 2010. She was not re-elected in the 2010 election. She was a member of the Riksdag from the district of Dalarna County since 2006. In her youth, Lindberg was an active participant in the Swedish Libertarian network Frihetsfronten, and was a friend of later author Johan Norberg.

Arbeideren was a Norwegian newspaper, published in Hamar, Hedmark county. It was started in 1909 as the press organ of the Labour Party in Hedemarken and its adjoining regions, and was called Demokraten until 1923. It was issued three days a week between 1909 and 1913, six days a week in 1914, three days a week again between 1914 and 1918 before again increasing to six days a week. It was renamed to Arbeideren in 1923, and in the same year it was taken over by the Norwegian Communist Party. The Communist Party incorporated the newspaper Gudbrandsdalens Arbeiderblad into Arbeideren in 1924, and until 1929 the newspaper was published under the name Arbeideren og Gudbrandsdalens Arbeiderblad. After Arbeideren had gone defunct, the name was used by the Communist Party for other newspapers elsewhere.

Dalarnas Tidningar (DT) is a Swedish media company formed in 1987 through the merger of Falu-Kuriren AB and Dalarnes Tidnings & Boktryckeri AB (DTBAB). Prior to the merger, Falu-Kuriren operated the independent liberal newspaper Falu Kuriren and DTBAB owned the apolitical newspapers Borlänge Tidning, Nya Ludvika Tidning, Mora Tidning, and Södra Dalarnes Tidning. The political leanings of the newspapers were maintained after the merger and through to the current day.
