The Damang mine is one of the largest gold mines in Ghana and in the world. [1] The mine is located in the south-west of the country in the Western Region. [1] The mine has estimated reserves of 10 million oz of gold. [1] The mine is operated by Abosso Goldfields Ltd., a subsidiary of the South African Gold Fields, which was acquired by the South African company in 2002. [2]
