The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. The conference was originally formed in 1951 as the State Teachers Conference, and was temporarily named the Pennsylvania State Teachers College Conference in 1956 before being assuming its current name in 1964.
Paul William Westhead is an American retired basketball coach. He was the head coach for three National Basketball Association (NBA) teams and an assistant for four others, and also coached in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), American Basketball Association (ABA), and Japan Basketball League (JBL). In his first year as an NBA head coach, he led a rookie Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers to the 1980 NBA Finals, which they won in six games for the team's first title in eight years. Westhead won titles in both the NBA and WNBA, and he is also remembered as the coach of the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) men's basketball team. Westhead is known for an unorthodox, run-and-gun style called "The System.” He was nicknamed "The Professor" due to his former career as an English teacher prior to coaching and his tendency to quote Shakespeare and other literary sources while coaching. He attended Saint Joseph's University.
John Bradley Holland is a retired American professional basketball player. He played for four years at UCLA. He was a member of the 1980 Los Angeles Lakers championship team. He was the University of San Diego head basketball coach until March 2007. On April 25, 2007, he was named as one of three finalists to become the new head coach of UC Riverside's men's basketball program, but lost out to Jim Wooldridge. Holland served as an assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara during the 2008–2009 and 2009–2010 seasons.
Gary Claude Blair is a retired women's basketball head coach. He coached for 37 years closing with Texas A&M Aggies women's basketball, who he coached from 2003 until his retirement in 2022. In his 37 years as a collegiate head coach, Blair only suffered two losing seasons, and has reached postseason play 28 times, including 23 NCAA Tournament appearances and Final Four appearances in 1998 with Arkansas and 2011 with Texas A&M. He led the Aggies to the NCAA national championship in 2011. He is listed in the top 35 of the all-time winningest NCAA Division I women's basketball coaches, and he is one of the few coaches to guide three different schools to national rankings and NCAA Tournament berths. Blair was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013 and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.
The VCU Rams men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Virginia Commonwealth University. The Rams joined the Atlantic 10 Conference in the 2012–13 season after previously competing in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). In 2017, VCU was ranked the 40th most valuable men's basketball program in the country by The Wall Street Journal. With a valuation of $56.9 million, VCU ranked second in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and second in the A-10 Conference. The team is coached by Ryan Odom.
Cathy Rush is a former basketball coach at Immaculata from 1972 to 1977. She led Immaculata to three consecutive AIAW national titles from 1972–1974. She led the Mighty Macs to six consecutive final four appearances in her six seasons with the school, attaining a 149–15 record. Rush was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on April 7, 2008. She had also been inducted to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
The Kutztown Golden Bears are the sports teams that represent Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, located in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. The Pepperdine Waves men's basketball team is an American college basketball team that represents Pepperdine University in NCAA Division I, the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Waves compete in the West Coast Conference and are coached by Lorenzo Romar who will not be retained at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. The Waves have competed in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament 13 times and are 3rd all-time in WCC Tournament wins and championships. The Waves most recently appeared in the NCAA tournament in 2002. Thirty-eight former Waves have been drafted or played in the NBA including Doug Christie and Dennis Johnson, an inductee of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The most recent Waves drafted into the NBA are Kessler Edwards (2021) and Maxwell Lewis (2023).

Lavoy Allen is an American former professional basketball player. He was selected in the second round, 50th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Allen is the son of a truck driver, and did not play much basketball until eighth grade. He attended Pennsbury High School, where he was coached by Oliver Aaron. Rivals.com ranked him the 14th best center in his class, and Scout.com named him the 110th overall prospect. Allen committed to Temple University and coach Fran Dunphy.

The 2017 West Chester Golden Rams football team represented West Chester University in member of the East Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) during the 2017 NCAA Division II football season. Led by 15th-year head coach Bill Zwaan, the Golden Rams compiled an overall record of 9–4 with a mark of 6–1 in conference play, sharing the PSAC East Division title with Shippensburg. West Chester advanced to the PSAC Championship Game, where the Golden Rams lost to IUP. The team received a bid to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs, beating Shippensburg in the first round before again losing to IUP in the second round.
Todd O'Brien is an American-born, naturalized Armenian professional basketball player who last played for Alexandria Sporting Club of the Egyptian National League. He played college basketball for Bucknell and Saint Joseph's before playing professionally in Latvia, France, Japan, Poland, Qatar, Lebanon, Armenia, Egypt and Israel.
Daron "Fatts" Russell is an American basketball player for Manisa BB of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi. He played college basketball for four years for Rhode Island, and after graduating he played one season for the Maryland Terrapins.
The 1990–91 Pepperdine Waves men's basketball team represented Pepperdine University in the 1990–91 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Tom Asbury. The Waves played their home games at the Firestone Fieldhouse and were members of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 22–9, 13–1 in WCC play to win the regular season conference title by a 4-game margin. After a January 11 home loss to San Diego in the conference opener, Pepperdine was just 6–8 overall. The Waves then went on a 16-game winning streak and won the West Coast Conference tournament to receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. In the opening round, the Waves fell to Seton Hall, 71–51.
The 2019 Shepherd Rams football team represented Shepherd University as a member of the East Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) during the 2019 NCAA Division II football season. Led by second-year head coach Ernie McCook, the Rams compiled an overall record of 10–3 with a mark of 6–1 in conference play, placing second in the PSAC's East Division. Shepherd advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs, where they beat IUP in the first round before losing in the second round at Slippery Rock. The Rams played their home games at Ram Stadium in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Ja'Den McKenzie is an American football running back for Rhode Island. He previously played college football for Division II school West Chester where he became a top-ten rusher in school history before transferring to Rhode Island in 2023. He attended and played high school football for Springfield High School in Springfield Township, Pennsylvania.
The 1957 West Chester Golden Rams football team was an American football team that represented West Chester State College as a member of the Pennsylvania State Teachers College Conference (PSTCC) during the 1957 NCAA College Division football season. In their 20th year under head coach Glenn Killinger, the Golden Rams compiled a perfect 8–0 record and outscored opponents by a total of 326 to 40. Despite a 14-game winning streak dating back to 1956, West Chester lost the PSTCC title to Shippensburg and Lock Haven due to the conference's point system that rated the relative strength of each team's opponents.
