Dan Brodbeck is a Canadian record producer, recording engineer/mixer and recording engineering professor based in London, Ontario.

Production and engineering career

Throughout the 1990s Brodbeck owned dB Recording Studios in London, Ontario. During that time he worked with various artists including The Gandharvas, Brian Vollmer and Garnet Rogers. In 2000, he became a partner at EMAC Recording Studios where he worked with artists such as Headstrong, Helix, Gord Prior, The Salads, Clockwise, Ana Lovelis, Landon Pigg. In 2003, he worked on the debut solo album Are You Listening by Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries. [1] He produced the self-titled debut album of Raven Quinn and Ivory Hours's Morning Light in 2015. [2] He also co-produced Preservation America by Industry. [3] In 2017 he co-produced, engineered and mixed Ivory Hours' Dreamworld as well as Texas King's Circles. He has had contributions to three Cranberries albums (Roses, Something Else and In The End) as a musician and recording engineer

Educational career

Brodbeck went to high school at London South Collegiate Institute. [4] In 2007 and 2008 Brodbeck taught music production at Fanshawe College in the Music Industry Arts program. In 2010, he returned to the Music Industry Arts program as a full-time professor of recording engineering and is now the Program Coordinator of the Fanshawe Music Industry Arts program as well as the Audio Post Production Program [5] [6]

Awards

In 2010, he won a Juno Award for Recording Engineer of the Year for his work on the songs "Apple of My Eye" and "Be Careful" from Dolores O'Riordan's album No Baggage . [7] In 2017 he was nominated for Record Producer of The Year at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards for his work on Dani Strong's "Time To Breathe". [8] The Cranberries final album, In The End, was nominated for Rock Album of The Year at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Dan engineered, played guitar and keyboards, and wrote on that record. [9]

No Baggage is the second and final solo album from Dolores O'Riordan. It was released on 21 August 2009 in Ireland, most of the world on 24 August 2009 and on 25 August 2009 in North America. EMAC Recording Studios is a music and commercial recording facility in London, Ontario, Canada, established in 1979 by Robert Nation and Joe Vaughan.

Joe Vaughan is a Canadian recording engineer, musician, and currently, professor of audio engineering in the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College. He is also a founder and co-owner of EMAC Recording Studios in London, Ontario.

Roses is the sixth studio album by Irish alternative rock band The Cranberries, released in the Republic of Ireland on 22 February 2012 and globally on 27 February 2012 through Cooking Vinyl and Downtown Records. Produced by Stephen Street, it was the band's first studio release in ten years. Originally planned to be released in late 2003, the recordings for the follow-up to Wake Up and Smell the Coffee were scrapped after the band decided to go their separate ways. After a six-year hiatus, The Cranberries announced their intention to record a new album during their 2009–2010 reunion tour. The title Roses was announced on The Cranberries website, on 24 May 2011.

D.A.R.K. is an alternative rock band formed in New York City in early 2009. It was initially founded under the name Jetlag by Olé Koretsky and former the Smiths bassist Andy Rourke. In April 2014, the band began recording new material with the Cranberries vocalist Dolores O'Riordan, and they subsequently changed their name to D.A.R.K. The album, titled Science Agrees, was released on September 9, 2016, through Cooking Vinyl. In 2017, Koretsky teamed with DJ Wool under the D.A.R.K. name to tour as an opening act for The Cranberries. On 15 January 2018, O'Riordan died of drowning at age 46. On 19 May 2023, Rourke died from pancreatic cancer, at the age of 59.

<i>In the End</i> (album) 2019 studio album by the Cranberries

In the End is the eighth and final studio album by Irish alternative rock band The Cranberries, released on 26 April 2019 by BMG. It is the band's first and only release since the death of singer Dolores O'Riordan, whose vocals are featured posthumously. The surviving instrumentalists pieced together her demos with in-studio recordings over the course of the subsequent year and worked with long-time producer Stephen Street to finalise the album. Critical reception was positive. This is the last studio album before the band’s official disbandment was confirmed and announced in 2019.
