Daniel Dubeau is the chief human resources officer and deputy commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He was its acting commissioner following Bob Paulson's retirement in June 2017,until Brenda Lucki replaced him in April 2018. [1] [2]

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is the national police service of Canada. The Highway of Tears is a 719-kilometre (447 mi) corridor of Highway 16 between Prince George and Prince Rupert in British Columbia,Canada,which has been the location of crimes against many women,beginning in 1970 when the highway was completed. The phrase was coined during a vigil held in Terrace,British Columbia in 1998,by Florence Naziel,who was thinking of the victims' families crying over their loved ones. There are a disproportionately high number of Indigenous women on the list of victims,hence the association with the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) movement.

Beverley Ann Busson is a Canadian Senator and former police officer who served as the 21st commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) from December 2006 to June 2007. She was the first woman to hold this position and was appointed on an interim basis in the wake of Giuliano Zaccardelli's resignation amid controversy. Busson's subsequent appointment as a member of the Senate of Canada representing British Columbia was announced on September 24,2018.

The Alberta Provincial Police (APP) was the provincial police service for the province of Alberta,Canada,from 1917 to 1932. The APP was formed as a result of the Royal North-West Mounted Police (RNWMP) leaving the prairie provinces during the First World War due to a lack of sufficient resources in light of its increased responsibilities for national security and reluctance to again enforce Prohibition law recently put into effect by the Alberta government after its experience doing so during territorial times. The RNWMP was replaced by the newly created Alberta Provincial Police on March 1,1917,which remained responsible for provincial policing until 1932,when it was eliminated as a cost-cutting measure during the Great Depression. The APP was known for its tumultuous beginning,battles against rum-runners and bootleggers during prohibition in Canada and the United States,as well as its remarkable efficiency and professionalism which endeared the force to Albertans.
Beverly Anne Giesbrecht was a western convert to Islam who created the controversial website Jihad Unspun. Giesbrecht was a media consultant and website designer,prior to her conversion and her creation of Jihad Unspun. She is reported to have become interested in Islam following al Qaeda's attacks on September 11,2001.
Robert Wilfred Paulson,is a former Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He retired from the RCMP at the end of June 2017.
The Moncton shootings were a string of shootings that took place on June 4,2014,in Moncton,in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. The perpetrator,Justin Bourque,a 24-year-old Moncton resident,walked around the northern area of the city and shot five officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP),killing three and severely injuring two. A manhunt for Bourque was launched and continued overnight and into June 5. On June 6,Bourque was found and taken into custody,ending a manhunt that lasted over 28 hours. The shooting was both Moncton's first homicide since 2010 and the deadliest attack on the RCMP since the Mayerthorpe tragedy in 2005,which left four RCMP officers dead. Bourque intended for the shootings to trigger a rebellion against the Canadian government. He was sentenced to 75 years in prison,with no eligibility for parole until after serving 25 years.
The 2014 shootings at Parliament Hill occurred on 22 October 2014,at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Corporal Nathan Cirillo,a Canadian soldier and reservist on ceremonial sentry duty,was fatally shot at the National War Memorial,followed by an attack on the nearby Centre Block parliament building,where members of the Parliament of Canada were attending caucuses. The attack ended with a shootout when the perpetrator ran inside the parliament buildings and was shot 31 times by six RCMP officers and died on scene. Following the shootings,the downtown core of Ottawa was placed on lockdown and majority of schools in Ottawa were on lockdown while police searched for any potential additional threats.
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women are instances of violence against Indigenous women in Canada and the United States,notably those in the First Nations in Canada and Native American communities,but also amongst other Indigenous peoples such as in Australia and New Zealand,and the grassroots movement to raise awareness of MMIW through organizing marches;building databases of the missing;holding local community,city council,and tribal council meetings;and conducting domestic violence trainings and other informational sessions for police.
The D Division is the division of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police responsible for federal policing in Manitoba and,at times,northwestern Ontario. Gerald W. Kisoun is the Commissioner of the Northwest Territories since 2024. He was the deputy commissioner of the Northwest Territories from 2011 to 2017. Brenda Lucki is a Canadian retired police officer who served as the 24th commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police from April 2018 to March 2023. She is the first woman to permanently hold the position.
Russell Mirasty is the 23rd and current lieutenant governor of Saskatchewan. He was appointed by Governor General Julie Payette,on the constitutional advice of the prime minister of Canada,Justin Trudeau,on July 17,2019. Mirasty was sworn in on July 18,filling the vacancy in the position left when W. Thomas Molloy died in office on July 2.

Amber Alyssa Tuccaro was a Canadian First Nations woman from Fort McMurray,Alberta,who went missing in 2010. Tuccaro was last seen near Edmonton,hitchhiking with an unidentified man. Her remains were found in 2012. As of 2024,her case is still unsolved.
Raf Souccar is a Canadian former deputy police commissioner who lead the anti-drugs work of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. After leaving the police force,Souccar launched and led a medical cannabis company.
