Dan Hayden, known as Danny Hayden, is an American college baseball coach, serving until May 2023 as head coach of the Miami RedHawks baseball program for 10 seasons. He was named to that position prior to the 2014 season. [1] [2] [3] [4] Miami announced that it had parted ways with Hayden in May 2023. His record in 10 seasons was 241-274. [5]

Hayden played baseball at Miami for one season before transferring to Xavier when coaching staffs changed. After his college career, he served as director of baseball operations and volunteer assistant coach at Miami for one season each before earning a full-time assistant position at Xavier in 2011. In July 2013, he was named head coach of the RedHawks. [1] His family has made significant financial contributions to the Miami athletic department. The RedHawks' home field, Hayden Park, is named for Dan's grandfather, Joseph P. Hayden. And the baseball office and practice facility, the Jay Hayden Baseball Center, is named for Dan's father. Scott Googins is an American college baseball coach who is the head coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats Baseball Team. Googins was hired on June 6, 2017. He left Xavier after being the skipper of the Musketeers baseball team since the start of the 2006 season. Under Googins, Xavier appeared in three NCAA Tournaments. In 2008, he was named the A-10 Coach of the Year, and in 2009, he was named the ABCA Mideast Region Coach of the Year. Googins is an alumnus of Ohio Wesleyan University, where he played baseball for the Battling Bishops.

Kevin Cooney is an American former college baseball coach who was the head coach at Montclair State from 1984–1987 and Florida Atlantic from 1988–2008. Under Cooney, the teams combined to appear in 11 NCAA Tournaments, including six in Division I. Montclair State won the Division III National Championship in 1987. Individually, Cooney was named the TAAC Coach of the Year in 1999.

The 2021–22 Miami RedHawks men's basketball team represented Miami University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The RedHawks, led by fifth-year head coach Jack Owens, played their home games at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio as members of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 14–18, 8–12 in MAC play to finish in seventh place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAC tournament to Kent State.

The 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 17, 2023. The ongoing regular season will be followed by many conference tournaments and championship series, and the season concludes with the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2023 Men's College World Series. The Men's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska, at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, will end in June 2023.
