The Louisiana State University System is a system of public colleges and universities in Louisiana. It is budgetarily the largest public university system in the state.
Southeastern Louisiana University (Southeastern) is a public university in Hammond,Louisiana. It was founded in 1925 by Linus A. Sims as Hammond Junior College. Sims succeeded in getting the campus moved to north Hammond in 1928,when it became known as Southeastern Louisiana College. It achieved university status in 1970.

Nick Joseph Bruno has been the president of the University of Louisiana at Monroe,also known as ULM,since November 8,2010. He was appointed by the Baton Rouge-based University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. Bruno is the eighth president of ULM. He succeeded James E. Cofer Sr.,who had resigned to become president of Missouri State University. Bruno's selection was made official in an announcement by University of Louisiana System president Randy Moffett. Bruno's official investiture was on 2011 October 2.
The Band of Pride (BOP) is the official marching band which represents Louisiana Tech University in Ruston,Louisiana. The Band of Pride performs pregame and during halftime at all Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football games,and travels to select road football games. Auditions are held throughout the academic year as scheduled for the upcoming Fall Quarter.
The College of Engineering and Science (COES) is one of five colleges at Louisiana Tech University,a public research university in Ruston,Louisiana. The roots of the college date back to the founding of Louisiana Tech in 1894 when the Department of Mechanics was created. Today,the college includes twenty-five degree-granting programs:fourteen undergraduate,seven master's,and four doctoral programs.
