Dan Whalen (born August 6, 1988) is a former American football quarterback from Willoughby, Ohio.
Dan played high school football at Willoughby South High School. He only started one year, leading the Rebels to a 10–0 regular season while throwing for over 2,500 yards, 27 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. In a first round playoff game against Olmsted Falls High School, Whalen threw for 356 yards and 5 touchdowns while only playing in the first half of a 49–10 win. [1]
Whalen played at Case Western Reserve University under head coach Greg Debeljak. He was a four-year starter at Case throwing for 9,720 yards, with 742 completions from 1,229 attempts, and with 87 touchdowns, and graduated in 2009 as the school's all-time leader in pass attempts, completions, yards and touchdown passes. Whalen was named a first team All-American his senior season by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and d3football.com. Dan was also a two-time finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy (Division III Player of the Year) and named University Athletic Association (UAA) Offensive Player of the Year three times. While the starting quarterback, Whalen led Case to 31 consecutive regular season wins, three straight perfect regular seasons, three straight UAA titles, and three straight NCAA postseasons. Assigned (added to the roster) to the Cleveland Gladiators on Feb. 2, 2011 [3] and removed from the Gladiator's roster on March 13, 2011. Whalen then returned to the roster two weeks later on March 25, 2011. [4]
Dan played in parts of six games for the Gladiators in the 2011 season, leading two come from behind wins, going 23 for 49 and passing for 284 yards with 9 total touchdowns and 1 interception. [5]
Midway through the season, Whalen decided to leave the team to pursue his career as a writer. [6] He was reassigned on June 6, 2011. [7]

The Cleveland Gladiators were an arena football team based in Cleveland, Ohio, and members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The Gladiators played their home games at Quicken Loans Arena, which they shared with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association and the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League. The franchise was originally based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and then later in Las Vegas, Nevada, before relocating to Cleveland for the 2008 AFL season. The Gladiators qualified for the playoffs eight times in their history, reaching the ArenaBowl in 2014.

Robert Lee Sippio, Jr. is a former American football wide receiver. He was signed by the Peoria Pirates in 2002. He played college football at Western Kentucky. During Sippio's professional career, he played for thirteen different teams in four different leagues, including the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL).

He was selected in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears and spent time with three other NFL teams before entering the CFL in 2012. Before his professional career begun, he played college football at Central Michigan University. Known as a dual-threat quarterback, LeFevour previously held the record for most touchdowns scored in the history of the NCAA, with 148 touchdowns scored. Case Keenum surpassed that record in 2011.

Greisen is a former American football quarterback who played professionally the National Football League (NFL) for the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys and current coach for West De Pere High School. He was drafted by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft. The team was coached by Steve Thonn and played their home games at Quicken Loans Arena. The Gladiators missed out on the playoffs by finishing 5th in the National Conference with a 7–9 record.

Shane Austin is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at University of Hawaiʻi. Austin went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft and signed with the Everett Raptors of the Indoor Football League (IFL) after the draft. After starting the Raptors final games of the season, Austin was able to gain the attention of the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League (AFL). Austin was named the starting quarterback for the Power, but a broken hand caused him to miss two months of the season. Austin then was assigned to the Cleveland Gladiators where he was named the backup to Chris Dieker. With Dieker struggling for the Gladiators, Austin was given the opportunity to start and lead the Gladiators to a 14–1 record as a starter and a berth in ArenaBowl XXVII. The Gladiators lost to Arizona Rattlers in the ArenaBowl, but Austin was named Second Team All-Arena.
Arvell Nelson is an American football quarterback who is a free agent. He was signed by the Alabama Hammers as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He played college football at University of Iowa, before transferring to Fort Scott Community College and Texas Southern University.
Jacoby JaJuan Brissett is an American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). Following a stint at Florida, he played college football at NC State and was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Patriots.
