Dana Brinson (born April 10, 1965) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). [1] He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the eighth round of the 1989 NFL draft. [2] He played college football at Nebraska.
Brinson made the Chargers' roster in 1989, when he competed in the preseason with popular veteran Lionel James, who was eventually cut in favor of the quicker rookie. [3] Brinson also played for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football (WLAF).

His best year as a pro came during the 1985 season, when he set then-NFL season records for receiving yards by a running back and all-purpose yardage. He also led the American Football Conference (AFC) in receptions that year.

He played seven NFL seasons for the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Houston Oilers and Philadelphia Eagles. Hendrickson was a member of the San Francisco 49ers when they won their fourth Super Bowl XXIV on January 28, 1990. During his professional career, he played various positions despite his relatively small stature. With the Chargers Hendrickson was used as a short-yardage, goal-line running back, despite being a defensive player. He scored on a 1-yard run against the Kansas City Chiefs in a January 1993 playoff game in San Diego, to cap off a 17–0 shutout.

He played college football for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, averaging over 27 yards per kickoff return, with a career best of 99 yards.
