Asha Bhosle is an Indian playback singer, entrepreneur, actress and television personality who predominantly works in Indian cinema. Known for her versatility, she has been described in the media as one of the greatest and most influential singers in Hindi cinema. Bhojpuri cinema, also known as Bhojiwood, and the Bhollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Bhojpuri language widely spoken in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Its major production centres are Patna. Bhojpuri cinema has grown in recent years. Bhojpuri cinema also caters to second and third generation emigrants who still speak the language in Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Fiji, Mauritius and South Africa.

Santosh Mishra is a Bhojpuri film director, writer and music composer, known for his works in Hindi, Bhojpuri and Gujarati films. He is known for directing the Bhojpuri movies like Patna Se Pakistan, Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi, Mokama 0 km, Border, Nirahua Rickshawala 2 and more than 40 other films.
The Sabrang Film Awards is an awards ceremony recognising the best of Bhojpuri cinema. The awards have been presented annually since 2014.
"Arrah Hile Chhapra Hile Baliya Hilela" is a Bhojpuri folk song, It gained popularity in 1977 when it was recreated in the first colored Bhojpuri movie Dangal. The song was sung by Manna Dey and written by Kulwant Jani. This song became very famous and has been recreated many times by Bollywood and Bhojpuri Cinema
