The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was an annual women's volleyball competition created in 1993. The men's version of the competition was called World League. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup.

Alejandrina Mireya Luis Hernández, often referred to as Mireya, is a Cuban former volleyball player and three-time Olympic gold medalist. She won gold medals at the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Olympics with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. She was the captain of the Cuban team from the late 1980s until her retirement.
Julio Velasco is an Argentine former professional volleyball player and coach. He's had Italian citizenship obtained in 1992. Velasco was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2005. Velasco currently serves as a sports director for the Italian Volleyball Federation.
Robertlandy Simón Aties is a Cuban volleyball player who is a member of the Cuban national volleyball team. He played with the Cuban national team from 2005 to 2010, and rejoined the team in 2019. He currently plays for the Italian club Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza. He has won the 2009 NORCECA Championship, was a silver medalist of the 2010 World Championship, and twice was a South Korean V-League Champion.
Regla Torres Herrera, more commonly known as Regla Torres, is a Cuban former volleyball player who won three Olympic gold medals with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. She began playing on the international circuit at the age of 14. As a middle blocker, she was a key player in the dominance of the Cuban national team of the 1990s.
Osmany Juantorena Portuondo is a Cuban-born Italian professional volleyball player, a member of Cuba national volleyball team in 2003–2006 and current member of Italian club Modena Volley. Juantorena was bronze medalist of the 2005 World League and silver medalist 2016 Summer Olympics. He is a multiple winner of the CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship with the Italian club Trentino Volley. Juantorena is the record owner of the highest number of Most Valuable Player awards at FIVB Club World Championship, with 4 times.
Henry Bell Cisnero is a Cuban volleyball player. He is 188 cm and plays as spiker. He plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv He was part of the Cuba men's national volleyball team at the 2010 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Italy. He played for Santiago de Cuba in 2010.
Eugenio George Lafita, also known as Eugenio George, was a Cuban volleyball coach. Nicknamed "Volleyball guru", George led the Cuban women's team to gold medals in the Olympics in 1992, 1996, and 2000. In 2000, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) named him the Best Women's Volleyball Team Coach of the Twentieth Century. In 2005, he was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.
