Daniel Boyd (born September 14, 1956) is an American filmmaker, author, and communications professor. [1] He currently teaches at West Virginia State University, has hosted writing workshops, and received a Fulbright Fellowship in 1998. [2] [3]
Boyd is known for his work with Troma Entertainment directing films such as Chillers, which was primarily funded through state grants. [4] [5] Boyd retired from directing in 2005.

Troma Entertainment is an American independent film production and distribution company founded by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz in 1974. The company produces low-budget independent films, or "B movies", primarily of the horror comedy genre, all geared exclusively to mature audiences. Many of them play on 1950s horror with elements of farce, parody, gore, and splatter.
Coalwood is an unincorporated coal town in McDowell County, West Virginia, United States. The coal mine in Coalwood reached its peak in the 1950s and ceased production on October 1, 1986. As of the 1990 census—the last time the town was counted separately—the population was 900. The town is the setting of Homer Hickam's best-selling 1998 memoir Rocket Boys, as well as its 1999 film adaptation, October Sky.
Stanley Lloyd Kaufman Jr., known professionally as Lloyd Kaufman is an American film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. Alongside producer Michael Herz, he is the co-founder of Troma Entertainment film studio, and the director of many of their feature films, such as The Toxic Avenger (1984) and Tromeo and Juliet (1996). Many of the strategies employed by him at Troma have been credited with making the film industry significantly more accessible and decentralized.

Blood Sucking Freaks is a 1976 American exploitation splatter film directed by Joel M. Reed and starring Seamus O'Brien, Luis De Jesus, Viju Krem, Niles McMaster, Dan Fauci, Alan Dellay, and Ernie Pysher. Set in New York City, the film follows a human trafficking ring masquerading as an experimental theater group, which stages Grand Guignol-style performances for audiences, who are unaware that actual murders and torture are being enacted onstage.
The TromaDance Film Festival is a free annual independent non-competitive film festival organized by Troma Entertainment. Founded in 1999, TromaDance was originally held in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, operating concurrently alongside the Sundance Film Festival in order to showcase an independent alternative to Sundance's perceived mainstream offerings. Between 2010 and 2013, the festival had been relocated to various locations throughout New Jersey. Since 2014, TromaDance has relocated to New York City, and Mahoning Drive-In Theater.
Begotten is a 1989 American experimental silent horror film written, directed, and produced by E. Elias Merhige. It stars Brian Salsberg, Donna Dempsy, Stephen Charles Barry, and members of Merhige's theatre company, Theatreofmaterial. Its unconventional narrative depicts the suicide of a godlike figure and the resulting births of Mother Earth and the Son of Earth, who set out on a journey across a barren landscape. The film does not contain dialogue, with its visual style evoking early silent films.

Rodrigo Gudiño is a Mexican Canadian film director and editor, known for being the founder of the horror magazine and company Rue Morgue. He currently serves as the company's president and also helps coordinate and program for several of the festivals and events that Rue Morgue holds or sponsors. Gudiño previously worked as the magazine's editor-in-chief before leaving the position to focus on making films. His short films were collected into the DVD Curious Stories, Crooked Symbols in 2009.
Resolution is a 2012 American horror film directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Scott Moorhead, written by Benson, and starring Peter Cilella and Vinny Curran. Cilella plays a graphic designer and father-to-be named Michael who, after receiving a troubling email video of his drug-addicted best friend Chris, travels to a remote cabin to save him. The 2017 film The Endless shares the same creative universe as Resolution, and may be interpreted as a partial sequel.

Hall's band Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum, Speedy OrtizJames Chance and the Contortions Finnish funk star Sam Huber Mac Gollehon Blondie keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen's solo project with his wife Laurel, Pastel Confession and Suicide Squeeze Records band Death Valley Girls. Greenberg directed a horror parody of Re-Animator entitled Re-Agitator: Revenge of the Parody starring Aurelio Voltaire Hernandez and Alan Merrill.
Mario Cerrito is an American filmmaker, writer and producer in the horror/thriller genre. He is best known for his film trilogy, Human Hibachi, Human Hibachi 2: Feast in The Forest and Human Hibachi: The Beginning. Each film won a Best Film award at the New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival in Atlantic City and were released by Troma Entertainment.
The AAA West Virginia High School Boys' Soccer State Tournament is an annual postseason soccer tournament held in West Virginia, United States. The tournament is open to all high school boys' soccer teams that compete in the state's AAA classification, which is the largest division in West Virginia high school soccer. The tournament is organized by the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC).
