Daniel Coyle (born 2 December 1994) is an equestrian from Northern Ireland, who competes in show jumping.

Career

In March 2022, he won the $500,000 Great American Grand Prix on Ariel Grange’s Legacy in Florida. [2]

In June 2022, riding Oak Grove’s Carlyle, Coyle became the first Irish rider to win the five-star CHIO Rotterdam in 58 years. [3] [4]

In the space of two months riding Legacy and Incredible in 2023 he won a hat-trick of consecutive five-star World Cups in Leipzig, Amsterdam, and Ocala, Florida. He also won the Grand Prix in Ocala on Farel. On Legacy he produced a double clear that helped Ireland qualify for the FEI League Of Nations final in Barcelona in October 2023. [5]

Riding Legacy he claimed victory in the $150,000 Mad Barn Big Ben International Challenge on November 9, at the Royal Horse Show in Toronto. [6]

In December 2023, riding Legacy he won the grand prix at the London International Horse Show. [7] He also made the jump-off, briefly leading, at the Logines World Cup, at the event. [8]

He was selected for the 2024 Paris Olympics riding Legacy. [9]

Personal life

He is from County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. [10] His brother Jordan Coyle is also an international show jumper. [11] [12]

Joseph "Joe" Halpin Fargis IV is an American showjumper and Olympic champion. Fargis won showjumping individual gold and team gold at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He won showjumping team silver at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He is the owner of Sandron Farm.

Benjamin Richard Maher MBE is a British show jumper. He represented Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2009 European Championships in Windsor, 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics. He won the team jumping gold at the London Olympics with Team GB, their first team jumping gold medal for 60 years, an individual gold for Great Britain at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and team jumping gold again at the 2024 Paris Summer Games. That win tied him with three-day eventer Richard Meade and dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin as the most successful British Olympic equestrians in gold medals won.

Richard Rankin Fellers is an American former Olympic equestrian and horse trainer. In 2023 he pled guilty to sexually abusing one of his students when she was 17. According to the Washington County, Oregon district attorney, he will serve 30 months in state prison concurrently with a four year federal sentence.

Audrey Coulter is an equestrian who has won several major horse jumping competitions. She is the daughter of financier James Coulter and Penny Coulter.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Shutterfly (horse)</span> Champion German show jumper

Shutterfly was a Hanoverian gelding ridden in competition by Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum. Considered the "ultimate jumping horse", Shutterfly won medals at several World and European Championships, placing first in the World Cup final three times. With lifetime winnings of €3,520,864, he was the most successful show jumper of the 2000s and one of the highest earning show jumpers of all time.
