Daniel Healy (Dan Healy) is a Scottish singer-songwriter [1] and actor. He was a member of Glasgow-based jazz/pop trio Eoscene. In 2013, as a solo artist, he supported Lawson on their UK tour. [2]

Healy has collaborated with Ronan Keating and co-wrote six songs which feature on Keating's tenth studio album, Time Of My Life , which was released on 12 February 2016. Keating and Healy met when they were both cast members in the West End Musical Once [2] He also co-wrote 2 songs on Keating's album Twenty Twenty

Healy played Paul McCartney in Iain Softley's theatre production of Backbeat which had its World premiere at Citizen's Theatre Glasgow on 9 February 2010. [3] [4] The play transferred to the West End for six months in 2011–12 at the Duke of York's Theatre before relocating to Toronto at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in 2012 and then to Los Angeles at the Ahmanson Theatre in 2013.

Healys other theatre credits include: 'Eamon' in the West End production of Once [2] and the title role in Peter Pan at the King's Theatre, Edinburgh. [5] Continuing the Beatles theme, Healy played the young John Lennon in Bob Eaton's Lennon at the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool. [2] [6]

Television credits include: River City (BBC); Daddy’s Girl (BBC); Taggart (Scottish Television); Wedding Belles (Channel 4); The Karen Dunbar Show (Comedy Unit/BBC); Chewin' The Fat (Comedy Unit/BBC). [2]

Healy also runs an internet comedy group called The Bad News Crew. [7] and in 2013 won the ‘Best Online Content Award’ at the Lovie Awards presented by Stephen Fry. [8]

He played "Guy" in the regional premier of Once [2] at the New Wolsey Theatre and Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch and in the first UK tour of Once the Musical

<i>Once</i> (musical) 2011 musical

Once is a musical based on the 2007 film of the same name by John Carney. Like the film, music and lyrics were by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, including the Academy Award-winning "Falling Slowly". The book for the musical was written by Enda Walsh. The musical premiered at the New York Theatre Workshop in 2011, before transferring to Broadway in 2012. The production received eleven 2012 Tony Award nominations, and won eight including Best Musical, Best Actor and Best Book. The musical also won the 2012 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical and the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. It has since spawned a London production, with a North American Tour which started on 1 October 2013. In the musical, the cast also serves as the orchestra. A minimalist set is used, including a bar in center stage with chairs lining stage left and right. Exiting cast members simply step to the side of the stage and sit down. They serve as the orchestra from these chairs. The bar is used before the show and at intermission as a working bar for theater patrons.

The Beatles' 1965 tour of the United Kingdom was a concert tour that took place between 3 and 12 December 1965, comprising 18 shows at nine venues across England, Scotland and Wales. It coincided with the release of the Beatles' studio album Rubber Soul and their double A-side single "Day Tripper" / "We Can Work It Out", and was the final UK tour undertaken by the band. Weary of Beatlemania, the group conceded to do the tour but refused to also perform a season of Christmas concerts as they had done over the 1963–64 and 1964–65 Christmas seasons.
