Daniel J. Fox is an American politician and lawyer who is a judge in the Danbury district of the Connecticut Superior Court as of September 2023. [1] Previously he served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 2011 to 2022 as a State Representative from the 148th District, which encompasses the East Side of Stamford, Connecticut.

Fox was first elected to the Connecticut House in 2011 in a special election in order to replace Carlo Leone. [2] Fox was re-elected in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020. [3] [4] Fox served as the assistant Majority Whip of the House and also has served on the House Judiciary committee. [5]

Fox was reelected to the Connecticut House in 2022 but did not take the oath of office, in anticipation of being nominated to the Superior Court. [6] He was nominated to the Superior Court by Governor Ned Lamont in March 2023. [7]

Incumbent Democratic Governor Ned Lamont ran for re-election to a second term in office. The race simultaneously took place with the election to the state's Class III Senate seat. This election featured a rematch of the previous 2018 gubernatorial election, pitting Lamont against Republican Bob Stefanowski, who he previously defeated by 3.2% of the vote. This time Lamont won re-election by a wider margin, becoming the first Democrat to win a gubernatorial election by more than 5 points in the state since 1986. This is the first time since 1994 that Tolland County voted Democratic in a gubernatorial election.

Carlo Leone is an American politician serving as the senior adviser to ConnDOT commissioner Joseph Giulietti. Leone formerly represented the 27th district of the Connecticut State Senate as a Democrat from 2011 until his resignation in 2021. While in the State Senate, he served as deputy president pro tempore and chair of the Transportation Committee. Leone also served in the Connecticut House of Representatives representing the 148th district from 2003 to 2011. As a Democrat, he served as the deputy majority whip in the House of Representatives.

Patricia Billie Miller is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut State Senate from the 27th district. Miller was elected in a special election following the resignation of Carlo Leone. Previously, served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 145th district. Miller is the first woman and person of color to represent Stamford in either chamber of the legislature. She is a member of the Democratic Party.

Governor Lamont appointed former associate attorney general Mark Kohler to the position. Kohler was sworn in July 11. He was not a candidate for the office in the November election.

Scott beat out Democrat Nick Kapoor by over 7 points in the April 13th election. Treneé McGee is an American Democratic Party politician currently serving as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 116th district, which includes parts of the cities of New Haven and West Haven since 2021. McGee was elected to the seat in December 2021 in a special election following the arrest and subsequent resignation of Michael DiMassa. She is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College. Before being elected to the Connecticut House she served on the West Haven city council.

The seat has been held by Kai Juanna Belton since March 6, 2023, following a special election after the untimely death of Quentin Williams, a Democrat.

Janis Hochadel known as Jan Hochadel is an American engineer, educator and politician. She currently serves as a member of the Connecticut State Senate representing District 13, which encompasses Meriden, Middlefield and parts of Cheshire and Middletown. She assumed office on January 4, 2023. She won election following the resignation of Mary Daugherty Abrams at the end of 2022. She is the former president and incumbent vice president of the American Federation of Teachers Connecticut (AFT).
