Daniel Mellet (born 1920) is a Swiss retired football referee.

Refereeing career

In 1955, Mellet began refereeing in the Swiss Super League, the top flight of football in Switzerland. In 1959, he was appointed as a FIFA referee.

In 1964, Mellet was appointed as a referee for the 1964 European Nations' Cup, where he officiated the third place play-off between Hungary and Denmark. [1]

Mellet retired from refereeing in 1964.

The 1964 European Nations' Cup round of 16 was the second round of the qualifying competition for the 1964 European Nations' Cup. It was contested by the thirteen winners from the preliminary round, along with Austria, Luxembourg and the Soviet Union, who had received a bye. The winners of each of eight home-and-away ties progressed to the quarter-finals. The matches were played in 1963.
