Danielle Vitalis is a British actress and writer. She has lead roles in series such as Sliced (2019) and Smothered (2023), and made appearances in films like Attack the Block (2011) and The Great Escaper (2023).
Vitalis lived part of her childhood in Saint Lucia before moving to the London borough of Hackney in the 1990s. Her mother’s family are St. Lucian. [1]
Vitalis made her screen debut in the 2011 Joe Cornish film Attack the Block , playing Tia. She later appeared in the E4 comedy drama series Youngers , the BBC Three supernatural series In the Flesh and the Dave sitcom Sliced with Samson Kayo. [2] In 2020, she was included as one of Digital Spy magazine’s 30 Black British stars of tomorrow. [3]
After appearances in Horrible Histories and Stath Lets Flats , in 2020 she joined the third series of Famalam , with Kayo and Vivienne Acheampong. [4] Her acting credits also include I May Destroy You and the Black Mirror episode "Joan Is Awful". [5] [6]
In 2023, she was in The Great Escaper with Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson. [7] In The Guardian , Peter Bradshaw mentioned her performance as one of the best in a supporting role on film in 2023. [8] That year she also played the lead role of Sammy in the Monica Heisey written Sky Comedy series Smothered alongside Jon Pointing and Aisling Bea. [9] [10]

Sliced is a British television sitcom which began airing on 15 May 2019. It was created and written by Phil Bowker and Samson Kayo for broadcast on Dave. The show follows two friends and fellow pizza delivery drivers Joshua and Ricky in south London, who just want to make some money, move out of their family homes and meet some women. The series stars David Mumeni, Phil Daniels, Kayo and Nahel Tzegai. In January 2020, it was renewed for a 6-episode second series, to premiere later in the year. Series 2 premiered on 3 June 2021.
Twist is a 2021 British crime drama film directed by Martin Owen and co-produced by Noel Clarke and Jason Maza, who also stars in the film. The film, an adaptation of Charles Dickens' 1838 novel Oliver Twist, stars Rafferty Law, Michael Caine, Noel Clarke, Lena Headey, Rita Ora and Sophie Simnett. The Great Escaper is a 2023 biographical drama film directed by Oliver Parker, written by William Ivory, and starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson. It is based on the true story of 89-year-old British World War II Royal Navy veteran Bernard Jordan who "broke out" of his nursing home to attend the 70th anniversary D-Day commemorations in France in June 2014.
