Beyruth was born in São Paulo. He got a degree in industrial design, and started his career doing advertising illustrations. In 2006, he did classes on perspective and comics narrative at Quanta Academia de Artes, an art school in São Paulo, and by the Kubert School correspondence course. [1] In the following year, he published his first comic book, Necronauta, initially, as a zine, and later as a mobile phone comic distributed by the phone carrier Oi, and then as two trade paperbacks published in 2010–11 in Brazil. [2]
In 2010, Beyruth pledged and got funding of the São Paulo State's Secretary of Culture program ProAC - Programa de Ação Cultural, to publish a graphic novel. He published Bando de dois, a story of two cangaceiros, the only survivors of their outlaw band. [3]
In 2012, Beyruth published Astronauta – Magnetar , a graphic novel based on the character created by Mauricio de Sousa, under the label Graphic MSP. [4] Beyruth would draw another three Astronauta books: Astronauta – Singularidade (2014), Astronauta – Assimetria (2016) and Astronauta - Entropia (2018). He also drew the graphic novel São Jorge based in Saint George for Panini Comics. [5]
Beyruth participated of the Stephen Lindsay's 2007 series Jesus Hates Zombies and of Image Comics' anthology Popgun #3 (2009) with a Necronauta (Deathnaut) story. [6] In 2015 he worked on Marvel NOW!'s Ghost Rider , drawing issues #1 to #4. [7] He also pencilled the titles Deadpool v. Gambit (2016) and The Unbelievable Gwenpool (2016). [8]
He created the concept art for the film Motorrad by Vincente Amorim, [9] released in 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. [10]
Tarzanesque is a term created by Frenchman Francis Lacassin used to describe characters in comic books inspired by Tarzan. A tarzanesque character resembles Tarzan in his physical resourcefulness, within a line of action that includes an adventurous life in the jungle, the gift of understanding and being understood by animals, contact with lost civilizations and courage combined with the ability to deal with nature. The creation of such characters may have been propitiated by the success that Tarzan had achieved since his appearance in literature in 1912, culminating with the release of daily comic strips in 1929, which paved the way for a genre that combined the allure of the unknown environment, the need for the archetypal characteristics of the hero and the popularity of access.

Fabio Coala is a Brazilian comics artist. After five years of working as a firefighter, he created the website Mentirinhas in which he publishes, starting in 2010, webcomics with different characters. One of the main characters is "O Monstro", a toy monster that helps children with problems by becoming a real monster for them. The first Monster's printed graphic novel was released in 2013 after a successful crowdfunding campaign and, in the following year, the book won the Troféu HQ Mix in the category "Best Independent Publication". A Coala's comic strip called "Perfeição" ("Perfection") was also adapted in 2014 as a short animated movie by Jacob Frey and Markus Kranzler. The movie, called The Present, has won 77 awards from several film festivals and has garnered critical acclaim.
Jefferson Costa is a Brazilian illustrator and comics artist. He has worked in several comic books, such as the adaptation of the book Kiss Me, Judas, as well as publications such as Quebra Queixo Technorama, A Dama do Martinelli and La Dansarina and works in Brazilian compilations Front and Bang Bang. He also published works in the North American anthologies Gunned Down and Outlaw Territory # 3. Jefferson also works with character design and animation scenarios, having worked on Cartoon Network Brazil's Historietas Assombradas para Crianças Malcriadas, as well as the Brazilian MTV series Megaliga, Fudêncio, The Jorges and Rockstarghost. In 2013, he won the Troféu HQ Mix in the "Best Comic Adaptation" category with Coleção Shakespeare em Quadrinhos Volume 4. In 2016 he won again the Troféu HQ Mix, this time with the graphic novel "La Dansarina" as "Best National Special Edition". In 2018, he published Jeremias - Pele, part of Graphic MSP collection, with scripts of Rafael Calça. The book earned them the 2019 Prêmio Jabuti for Best Comic Book.
