Danny Orleans (born October 21, 1954) is an American magician, one of the top trade-show performers, corporate entertainers, and magical educators in the country.

As a corporate and trade show performer, he has presented hundreds of magic shows for business settings over the past 25 years. He travels over 75,000 miles annually, performing at trade shows that have included the TDWI World Conference, [1] Networld+Interop [2] and the Embedded Systems Conference. [3] His list of clients includes Hewlett-Packard, American Express, Aon Corporation, ExxonMobil, WhereScape [4] and Western Union.

Orleans' path as a magician educator began when he earned his degree in Education from Northwestern University. Orleans went on to teach both Algebra and preschool at Chicago area public and private schools. From 1980 to 2000 he toured North America performing magic in thousands of schools, theaters and children's museums (including the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida). [5] In 2003, he won 1st place in the Chicago Close-Up Magic Competition. [6]

Orleans has written, appeared in, or contributed to numerous instructional texts on magic, including a series of ten books and magic sets with DVDs for New York publisher, Scholastic Corporation. [7] In 2010, Chronicle Books published an interactive magic book he created called Magic Scratchers. It is the first magic book using scratch-off technology to create the illusion that it can read the mind of the reader. He has also written on magic subjects for magicians' trade publications, Genii (magazine) [8] and Magic (magazine). [9]

In 2013, Mr. Orleans released a set of DVDs for the magic community entitled, The Art of Presenting Magic to Children. The success of this release gave him instant notoriety as an expert on the performance of magic to young people. In 2014, he released The Art of Presenting Magic to Teenagers.

Since then, he has written or edited additional books and ebooks for the magic community including Kids Show Masterplan,The Daycare Magician,Scrub-a-Dub-Dub, and Lights, Camera, Magic. He and his wife Jan Rose are now lecturing worldwide to magicians, educating them on the use of audience management skills and child psychology in order to make their youth performances more successful.

Daniel Sylvester Battagline, also known as Sylvester The Jester, is an American magician, best known for playing a cartoon character who comes to life. He has had hundreds of stage and television appearances, including NBC’s "World's Wildest Magic," ABC’s "Champions of Magic III", Jerry Lewis's Muscular Dystrophy Telethon and The Discovery Channel’s "More Science of Magic." He has performed in multiple Las Vegas shows including opening for The Amazing Johnathan, and appearing at Caesar’s Magical Empire. He also produces a series of magic products, and has been credited with creating the illustrations for various magic publications, such as the cover for The Amazing Johnathan's Every Trick in the Book, and the poster for John Carney's "Mr. Mysto" act. In 1996, he also created a prop for the television show, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch." He has been featured on the cover of several magic and culture-related magazines, such as the September 1998 issue of Magic.

Richard Turner (magician) American card manipulation expert

Richard Edward Turner is an American expert card mechanic who is known for his card trick performances. He was honored with a Golden Lion Award in Magic from Siegfried and Roy and the Lynn Searles Award for Excellence in Card Manipulation. He is the 2014 and 2017 recipient of the Close-Up Magician of the Year award from The Academy of Magical Arts, and he is the subject of the documentary Dealt (2017).

Genii, The Conjurors' Magazine is the largest selling magazine in the world devoted to magic and magicians. It is a monthly magazine first published in September 1936, currently edited by Richard J. Kaufman and owned by Randy Pitchford. The magazine is based in Washington, DC.

Henry Jeffery Atkins was a British magician. He is cited as a major force in the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) British Ring, for which he was honorary secretary and convention organizer for many years. He also served a term as international president of the IBM. As a performer he specialized in revivals or re-creations of antique magic. He made a number of appearances on national television in the United Kingdom. On one occasion he staged a revival of the Radium Girl illusion for the Paul Daniels Magic Show. He is commemorated through the Jeffery Atkins memorial lecture held at the annual convention of the British Ring of the IBM.

Magic (illusion) entertainment constructed around tricks and illusions

Magic, which encompasses the subgenres of illusion, stage magic, and close up magic, is a performing art in which audiences are entertained by tricks or illusions of seemingly impossible feats using natural means. It is to be distinguished from paranormal magic which are effects claimed to be created through supernatural means. It is one of the oldest performing arts in the world.
