Darci Vetter is an American government official and academic who served as Chief Agricultural Negotiator for the Office of the United States Trade Representative.
Vetter grew up in Nebraska on a family farm run by her father, David Vetter [1] She received a B.A. from Drake University and an M.P.A. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. [2] [3]
From 2007 to 2010, she served as an International Trade Advisor on the United States Senate Committee on Finance. Prior to working in the Senate, Vetter held numerous roles at the Office of the United States Trade Representative, including Director for Agricultural Affairs (2005 to 2007) and Director for Sustainable Development (2001 - 2005). Before that, she was a Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of State for Management (2000 - 2001). Vetter then served as Deputy Under Secretary of Agriculture for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services (2010 - 2014)
On December 17, 2013, President Barack Obama nominated her to be Chief Agricultural Negotiator, and the Senate confirmed her for that position by a voice vote on July 9, 2014. [2]
In July 2017, she was named diplomat in residence at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In this role, Vetter worked with leaders from the university's College of Law, College of Business and Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources to launch the Clayton K. Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance.
Clayton Keith Yeutter, ONZM was an American politician who served as United States secretary of agriculture under President George H. W. Bush from 1989 to 1991 before serving as counselor to the president in 1992. He served as United States trade representative from 1985 to 1989 and as chairman for the Republican National Committee from 1991 until 1992. Yeutter was employed as a senior advisor at the international law firm Hogan Lovells in Washington, D.C. He additionally founded the Clayton Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance at his alma mater, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The university subsequently published his biography, Rhymes with Fighter.
Sylvia Mary Burwell is an American government and non-profit executive who was the 15th president of American University from June 1, 2017 to June 30, 2024. Burwell is the first woman to serve as the university's president. Burwell earlier served as the 22nd United States Secretary of Health and Human Services. President Barack Obama nominated Burwell on April 11, 2014. Burwell's nomination was confirmed by the Senate on June 5, 2014, by a vote of 78–17. She served as Secretary until the end of the Obama administration. Previously, she had been the Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget from 2013 to 2014.

Michael Braverman Goodman Froman is an American lawyer who is the current president of the Council on Foreign Relations. Froman served as the U.S. Trade Representative from 2013 to 2017. He was Assistant to the President of the United States and Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs, a position held jointly at the National Security Council and the National Economic Council. In that position he served as the United States sherpa to the G7, G8, and G20 summits of economic powers. On May 2, 2013, President Barack Obama nominated him to succeed Ambassador Ron Kirk as the U.S. Trade Representative. He was confirmed on June 19, 2013.

Prior to this, he was Vice President for Science and Regulatory Affairs at CropLife America, and a career official in the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
The Chief Agricultural Negotiator is an ambassador of the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) responsible for conducting and overseeing international negotiations related to trade in agricultural products. The Chief Agricultural Negotiator is compensated at the rate payable for Level III of the Executive Schedule.
