Henrique Costa Mecking, also known as Mequinho, is a Brazilian chess grandmaster who reached his zenith in the 1970s and is still one of the strongest players in Brazil. He was a chess prodigy, drawing comparisons to Bobby Fischer, although he did not achieve the International Grandmaster title until 1972. He won the Interzonals of Petropolis 1973 and Manila 1976. His highest FIDE rating is 2635, achieved in 1977, when he was ranked number four in the world. He became the 3rd best in the world in 1977, behind only World Champion Anatoly Karpov and Viktor Korchnoi. He is the first Brazilian to become a grandmaster. Despite winning his first national championship at the age of 13, he played in very few tournaments. He won at Vršac in 1971 and finished third with Robert Byrne at Hastings in 1971–72. In 1975, he twice shared second place behind Ljubomir Ljubojević, firstly at Las Palmas with Ulf Andersson and Mikhail Tal and then at Manila with Lev Polugaevsky, Bent Larsen and Helmut Pfleger.
Zhao Xue is a Chinese chess player. She is the 24th Chinese person to achieve the title of Grandmaster. Zhao was a member of the gold medal-winning Chinese team at the Women's Chess Olympiad in 2002, 2004 and 2016, and at the Women's World Team Chess Championship in 2007, 2009 and 2011. She has competed in the Women's World Chess Championship in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2018, reaching the semifinals in 2010.
Alejandro Tadeo Ramírez Álvarez is a Costa Rican-born American chess player. At the age of 15, he became the first Central American to achieve the title of Grandmaster and the second youngest chess grandmaster in the world at the time.
Alexander Ivanov is a Soviet-born American chess grandmaster born in Omsk. He moved to the United States in 1988. FIDE awarded him his GM title in 1991. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife, WIM Esther Epstein.

Nikita Kirillovich Vitiugov is a Russian chess player. He was awarded the title Grandmaster by FIDE in 2007. He was a member of the victorious Russian team at the World Team Chess Championship in 2009 and 2013. Vitiugov won the Gibraltar Masters tournament in 2013 and the Grenke Open in 2017. Vitiugov won the 2021 Russian Chess Championship.
Grzegorz Gajewski is a Polish chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2006.
Rafael Duailibe Leitão is a Brazilian chess player. He is a grandmaster in both over-the-board chess and correspondence chess. Leitão is a seven-time Brazilian champion. He competed in the FIDE World Championship in 1999, 2000 and 2004 and in the FIDE World Cup in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013 and 2015.
Alexandr Hilário Takeda Sakai dos Santos Fier is a Brazilian chess grandmaster. He competed in the FIDE World Cup in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
Felipe de Cresce El Debs is a Brazilian chess player who holds the FIDE title of Grandmaster. He competed in the FIDE World Cup in 2017. El Debs played for the Brazilian team in the Chess Olympiad and Pan American Team Chess Championship. In this latter event, in 2013, his team finished third. In 2004 he won the Brazilian under-20 championship with a score of 100%.

Akshayraj Kore, is an Indian chess player and a Grandmaster. In 2006, he became Maharashtra's youngest International Master at the time after he won the Invitational IM Norm Round Robin Chess Tournament in Luhansk, Ukraine. In February 2013, he became India's 32nd Grandmaster.
Karthikeyan Murali, born 5 January 1999 is an Indian chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2015. Karthikeyan is a two-time national champion.
Jan-Krzysztof Duda is a Polish chess grandmaster. A prodigy, he achieved the grandmaster title in 2013 at the age of 15 years and 21 days. Duda won the Polish Championship in 2018 and the Chess World Cup in 2021. He was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit for his achievements in chess.
Sandro Fabio Mareco is an Argentine chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2010. Mareco competed in the FIDE World Cup in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021. He has played for the Argentine national team in the Chess Olympiad since 2012.
Cristhian Cruz Sánchez is a Peruvian chess player who received the FIDE title of Grandmaster (GM) in September 2012.
Luis Paulo Supi is a Brazilian chess player holding the title of Grandmaster.
