Background

On 1 November 2014, The Getaway Plan announced plans to release their third full-length record, Dark Horses. The band chose to set up a crowd-funding campaign through PledgeMusic so that they could remain independent and release the album without a record label. [1]

Dark Horses is the first album by The Getaway Plan to be fully written and recorded in Australia. They worked alongside long-time friend and producer Sam K creating the record between November 2014 and March 2015. Dark Horses was recorded at both The Studios in the City in Brunswick and at Sing Sing Studios in Cremorne. [2]

Dark Horses was released on 3 July 2015. [3] The album debuted at #10 on the ARIA Albums Chart, marking the band's highest charting position ever in Australia with their debut LP Other Voices, Other Rooms peaking at #14 and their sophomore record Requiem reaching #17. [4]

The Getaway Plan are an Australian rock music band, which formed in 2004. Founding mainstays are Matthew Wright on lead vocals, piano and rhythm guitar and Clint Ellis on lead guitar. They were joined in 2014 by Dan Maio on drums, and his brother, Mike Maio on bass guitar. Former long-term members are Dave Anderson on bass guitar and Aaron Barnett on drums and percussion.

Dark Horse is the sixth studio album by the Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on November 17, 2008 in Europe and the next day elsewhere. It is the follow-up to their multi-platinum selling All the Right Reasons (2005). Sarah Elizabeth Blaskow, known professionally as Sarah Blasko, is an Australian singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. From April 2002, Blasko developed her solo career after fronting Sydney-based band, Acquiesce, between the mid-1990s and 2001. She had performed under her then married name, Sarah Semmens, and, after leaving Acquiesce, as Sorija in a briefly existing duo of that name.
