Darragh Moriarty is an Irish Labour Party politician who represents the South West Inner City on Dublin City Council.
Moriarty is from Dolphin's Barn Street,Dublin 8. He was educated at Synge Street CBS and University College Dublin. [1]
Moriarty was co-opted to Dublin City Council in 2020 to represent the South West Inner City ward,replacing party colleague Rebecca Moynihan,who entered the Seanad. [2] He was returned to the council in 2024,and leads the Labour group there. [2]
He was selected to contest Dublin South-Central for Labour in the 2024 general election. He launched the party's renters' rights policy during the campaign. [3]
He has advocated for a hotel tax,and for a limit to tourist accommodation being built in Dublin 8. [4]
Moriarty works in policy and communications for an NGO. [1] He is a St Patrick's Athletic season ticket holder. [5]
