Darrel Johnson (born February 21, 1955) is a former college basketball coach. He was head coach of the Baylor Bears team from 1992 to 1994. He was previously head coach at Oklahoma Baptist University from 1985 to 1990 and at Oklahoma City University from 1990 to 1992. After being fired in a scandal over violation of NCAA rules, he became a scout for the Charlotte Bobcats and basketball coach and director of athletics at The Woodlands Christian Academy. He later became a scout for the New Orleans Pelicans and for the Los Angeles Clippers. Johnson is currently a Senior Evaluation Analyst for the Phoenix Suns, and lives in Oklahoma City Oklahoma with his wife Beth Johnson.

Johnson attended Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. [1] He played professional basketball in Europe for a year and then worked as a high school basketball coach at Putnam City North and Ada, winning the 1982 3A state championship . From 1982 to 1985 he was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State University. He was head coach at Oklahoma Baptist University from 1985 to 1990. [2]

He was head basketball coach at Oklahoma City University from 1990 to 1992. The team had a 73–3 record and won the NAIA Men's Basketball Championship both years, winning 56 consecutive games while at OCU. He was known for a fast-paced style of play. [2] [3]

Johnson was head coach of men's basketball at Baylor from May 1992 to November 1994, when he was dismissed because of accusations of violations of NCAA regulations in the program. Johnson was cleared of all charges, [4] [5] but Baylor sued him in November 1995 for damages. That lawsuit was withdrawn in February 1996 after Johnson accepted responsibility for "improprieties" in the program while he was head coach. [6]

Beginning in the early 2000s, Johnson worked for the Charlotte Bobcats as a personnel staffer and scout. In 2005–09 he was head boys' basketball coach at The Woodlands Christian Academy, near Houston, also becoming athletic director in 2007; [7] his record there was 109–16, and the school won the district title all four years and went to the state final four three times, winning the State Title in 2008 and 2009. [8] After retiring from The Woodlands, he moved to Edmond, Oklahoma. [9]

Kenneth Franklin Trickey Sr. was an American basketball and baseball coach, best known for his two stints as the head coach for the men's basketball team at Oral Roberts University (ORU) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was especially remembered for ORU's high-scoring "run and gun" teams of the early 1970s, which helped the young, small school attain national attention and competitive success, including a spot in the Elite Eight in the 1974 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. After his death in 2012, the Tulsa World called him "one of the most influential and colorful characters in this state’s basketball history".

Paul Hansen was an American basketball coach. He was the head men's basketball coach at Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma State University–Stillwater, and University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO). Prior to the becoming a head coach, he acted as an assistant to iconic Oklahoma City University coach, Abe Lemons for 18 seasons. Hansen, born in Iowa, but raised in Oklahoma City, played college basketball at the Oklahoma City University. He began his coaching career at Noble High School, before returning to his alma mater. After Lemmons left OCU to coach Pan American, Hansen moved into the lead role. Hansen led Oklahoma City to three consecutive winning seasons, where he coached Allen Leavell who went onto 10 seasons in the NBA. Hansen then became Oklahoma State's head men's basketball coach in 1979. He led the Cowboys to their first 20 win season and NCAA tournament appearance since 1965. Hansen was let go from the Cowboys in 1986 and became the head coach at University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He guided the USAO Drovers through 1991 before retiring. Hansen died on January 18, 1993; he was 64 years old. Paul Hansen was married and he and his wife, Carol, had five daughters, Elizabeth, Patti, Judith, Mary and Heidi.

Latricia Trammell is an American basketball coach who most recently served as the head coach of the Dallas Wings of the WNBA. Trammell has also previously been an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks and the San Antonio Stars in the league. She has also coached at the collegiate level.
